I think Indonesia's best movement is that they marked both German's wings back. In a recent podcast, Indonesians said that they watched and analyzed German games thoroughly in the semifinal against South Africa. Germans used their wing-backs (Dumfreis and Raum) as the main characters in their tactic. Indonesian marked both players so the 3 German forwards players didn't have any ball supply and that's why their attacking didn't work. Unfortunately, the Germans didn't realize it and still used the same tactic in 2nd leg. So it's a win for Indonesia
@@aurorasandsadprose_ this is just not true, they were marking LB and RB as it is in the top tested tactic. They would have to be marking LWB and RWB which they were not.

The winner of the FM World Cup will be rewarded with going to the FIFA coaching license class right? I cannot wait for him to do this in real life. The Indonesian winner confirmed he will take that licence and become a full-time football coach. I cannot wait to see his actions in the future.
Really enjoyed the breakdown and the videos so far, would of been interested to see the system you would use to counter it. I think you touched upon it with the defensive wingers or changing system to a 4 back to free up the libero. Would of been good to see on FM as well as the board.
Enjoyed the video. Yes would like an analysis of the Indonesia England Semi Final Guess Aarron lost due to matchups. I do find the 4231 double pivot in general as unstable and easy to play though. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video, lots of excellent points and definitely made me think how I'm playing now in my network game. I have built my team mostly around 3atb just for varietys sake. I've had good success overall, but now I have a new perspective what to try when things are not working out. For Germany, wouldn't one option been to move the CFs to AMCs to block Zambo and Seiwald (so 3-4-2-1 narrow)? That way they would have had a box midfield to match Indonesias 3 midfield players and could have left wingbacks to match Indonesias fullbacks. I don't remember how good Sule & Kimbembe are on the ball, but their passing options would have been more limited for sure as DMs and FBs are matched. And if they'd gone long Germany's 3CBs would have most likely been able to win against Fullkrug in the air and prevent nasty second balls. I don't remember Germany's AMC (bench) options so maybe they didn't have suitable players to play that way.
I do think that would have been a fair option. That's what they kind of tried by having the CF's on support. Shadow strikers would have been better. Again I think you just give too much time for Grimaldo and Clauss. For the sake of having 3 at the back for not that many good reasons imo
My question would be, if you were Grimaldo. Would you like Dumfries 10-20 yards away from you before he presses. Or all over you 4 yards away. Plus if you ever dribble past him he can recover and catch you quickly. (Reduce time on the ball as much as possible for highest passing/vision players)
For me 3 4 2 1 narrow with double SS would be a better option to mark their dms in build up and also can step up in a striker position that can cause trouble for their CBs to mark Germany team can also have their wingbacks to mark girmaldo and clauss and their BPDs on stopper to mark lookman and politano
I dont know much abt the game, but i watched their podcast in my own language indonesian, they say something like while other team picking their wonderkid, and throw it on pitch while they have low familliarity with the tactics, their team just keep that familiarity high with that 4 2 3 1 gegenpress
Yea true, what i get form the podcast rather change tactic to counter enemy tactic they rather still use 4-2-3-1 but kill the best enemy player that make the enemy cant progressive the ball and make tactic is useless
You mentioned in an older video that you run less intense counter attacking tactic when you dont have the players you need to run your normal tactics. I was wondering what that looked like? I have been trying for a few weeks to get a low block direct counter attacking system to work and I just cant figure out how to
@@Baller199755low block, low lines just not work in this match engine. They invite way too much pressure. It's much better to attack from the front and keep the ball in the opposition half as much as possible, while still counter attacking when possible. I may reduce my lines by one notch off of maximum or highest but that's about it. If my team doesn't have the stamina, work rate and natural fitness to pull off max press every game, then I will reduce the press for periods in games... Particularly when I'm winning. Prioritizing player preservation. Ps I don't like low block in real life, Southgate bored me to death. Offense in the best form of defense.
I will just try overloading right side with 433dm right mezala, attacking wb, and right winger. Hope the center area will be wide open for other midfield to attack into. Zambo still gonna be a problem tho.
In games like this and in the North American save you are doing with people, do you set a limit of how many tactical changes you can make?
