I just installed a new Mic capsule on the board and that fixed the problem. Thanks to someone who posted a video clip about it. Drilling the Mic hole bigger may work in some cases. It sure didn't help with my microphone. Here's one way to test it:
Take the Microphone apart, take the board out of the case. Hook it back to the radio, set the radio to VOX. When you speak with a normal voice directly into the mic it should trigger TX. If it doesn't the mic capsule is defective.
After I soldered the new mic to the board it triggered TX / VOX without any problem. I put it all back together and did several radio checks on air. I received very good modulation reports from every station I contacted. Over repeaters and simplex.
Hope this will help others with the same problem. It's still sad how piss poor the quality control and customer service from Any Tone is.

Here is a fix. Open up your mic. Make the whole larger. The mic is not properly aligned. Nothing wrong with the modulation on the radio. There is a video on TH-cam describing how to do it
Did you pay any attention what I’m saying in this video? Off course I checked for the alignment. I even tried without the case around the mic. The radio worked fine for about a month then the modulation went down the gutter. Just watch the whole video again maybe you understand it better then.
Yes I saw it. I really suspect its the cheap mic. Be interesting if it fixes the problem. At that price don't expect great customer service. You really are spending your money on a throw away product. I have been using chinese radios for years and have virtually no problems. I'm planning on buying one of these and I might just have your problem we see. To be honest to get a comparable jap radio you would have to pay over five times the price. And to be honest it's a rip off. There not 5 times better. So yea be really interesting to find out if it fixes the problem.

What I will say, and I am not disagreeing with the fact people need to be more critical in reviews, in the UK the top ham radio shops sell this radio. They have sold it for years and years. They sell virtually no other cheap radios from china (unless you count $500+ sdr as cheap) they won't because of the lack of reliability of the other Chinese manufacturers. They sell these because very few of them come back faulty and they are fairly easy to repair. But I also remember when Japan started producing TV sets. In the UK our TV manufacturing died instantly. For the simple reason that Japanese quality could not be beaten. If someone asked me to describe what Japanese meant, I would say "high tech, high quality, affordable and repairable." You just don't get that from anywhere else.
I had the same radio too, but never was able to programed. Now I won the Anytone 878 UVII PLUS and I came up to your video because I was told from some friends on the radio that my voice is to low as well.
I've had a couple AnyTone radios. They're cheap and they're hit-or-miss quality-wise. So you roll the dice. You can get an Alinco for a little more.

I enlarged the mike hole to 3mm. Worked..
I tried that at first too, but didn't work in my case. It only fixed the problem after I installed a new mic capsule.

I know what you are talking about I have the same radio and I don't even talk on it mostly listen did drilling out the hole and even bought a new mic did not cure the problem
Most companies will not warranty products sold thru ebay.
Yes, you're correct. And I do understand their reason behind it. They still should provide a support for their products like firmware updates. I haven't found any of it for this particular model. But I did manage to fix the problem as I stated in my updated description. Thank you for leaving your comment.
