    Best Toggles Tutorial I've ever seen.
    Not Rushed. All Questions Answered
    and the best part was I got it first try and I genuinely remember how to do it now for future reference

    Great tutorial. I've come back to it a couple of times recently. I always forget what order to do things in.
    However, may I recommend doing two recordings next time? One to get your bearings and review, and another to upload. This helps avoid issues like with the FX controller and might prevent some stress to someone who's truly new to Unity.
    But all the information is there as it is, and this is def something I'll forward on to folks that need it.

      Thanks for watching and sharing my video!
      Regarding more recordings, do you mean to make one part to show the upload process?

    • @badgerpants1872
      @badgerpants1872 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nuekaze_media Like, you run through the process and record it twice. The first recording you'd go through the process just like this, but then you'd watch that first recording, take note of where things could be smoothed out, and then do the recording a second time.
      I used to do electronics repair videos for an old job and found recording twice was WAY easier than editing in post. For me, I'd do things like forget if the keyboard comes off before or after the backplate on a laptop, or have to spin a bracket around a million times before it was oriented correctly. For you, it's FX layers and stuff. In my case, I could usually cut off a quarter of the run time and have a more coherent final product. I already knew where the tricky parts were at and what tools were best suited for the task. :)

    • @nuekaze_media
      @nuekaze_media  ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually do something like that but for this video I don't remember if I did it or not. I always try to go through the process a few times so I know all the steps beforehand. But longer videos are usually more difficult to remember everything. And sometimes I come up with something else while recording and just keep it.
      But good tips! I will remember it for the next video.

    Bro is actually a gigachad with the tutorials holy
    Btw I was wondering, how can I sync a toggle’s emission colours with the main body’s emission colours? I see a lot of neon spines and neon characters but struggle with having the colours actually communicate and synchronise

      I am not sure I understand what you want to do. But I have seen that avatars with dynamic lights use AudioLink for shaders. Not sure how it works but it could be a hint maybe.

    Heyo o/
    I've been watching your vids since I got into making my own avatar. You have been an incredible teacher and big help throughout the whole thing, so thank you for that ❤
    One thing I wanted to ask you about, which I am not sure about still, is how do you manage your different clothing for your main avatar? Like, say I am using one base for everything, do you just pile on the clothing into one collection in blender? Or do you keep them separate somehow?
    I ask cause I am unsure which way to do it, since if I do it with multiple different ones, won't I be limited by the fact that changes to the base won't be shared between them?

    • @nuekaze_media
      @nuekaze_media  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi,
      Thanks a lot for enjoying my videos. It makes me very happy!
      I probably don't have the best way of managing clothes but I can tell you how I do it. I have one Blender file that has all clothes and all bones for the clothes in one armature. Then when I want to export a version of the model to Unity I do a "save as" on the Blender file so I get a copy. Then I remove all meshes and bones that should not be on the avatar from the copy. The good thing with this method is that you get a very optimized avatar. The bad thing is that you will have a lot of Unity projects with a single avatar in them. For materials and expression I try to copy paste as much as I can, but there are still a lot of manual work.
      I have thought about refining the method in some way. Like having all clothes in one Unity project and then a base body. But I am unfortunately not there yet.

      @@nuekaze_mediaI see. Yeah, I'll probably just end up trying out a bunch of different stuff and see what works for me best, but thank you very much for sharing 🤗

    When I go to toggle clothes in the game, instead of toggling on and off I have to hold the button for it to change, and it goes right back to default when I let go. 🤔 I'll edit if I figure it out!
    EDIT: I think I accidentally had it set to button instead of toggle! EDIT2: Now it's not toggling at all, and it acts like the animation is playing when it's not... EDIT3: Okay! It seemed to be a problem with the animation itself, but I rerecorded it and it's working like a charm! :D

    Does each article of clothing need to be uploaded separately into Unity from Blender?

    • @nuekaze_media
      @nuekaze_media  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The animation you make is not dependent on how the mesh is attached. As long it is under the avatar in the hierarchy and you can find it, it should work. I personally always prepare all my clothes in Blender first and then export everything as an FBX. But if you have a ready mesh you should be able to just drag and drop it onto the avatar in the hierarchy.
