I am always amazed at how deep it gets. It doesn't look like that on camera since it builds up slowly. Especially when the platform isn't in there for a reference point. Lol.😁

My husband and I bought two goats in November and tried the deep litter method. One of our goats got Coccidia, because he was still eating, drinking and didn’t have diarrhea we didn’t realize how sick he was. We ended up having to put him down. It was so heartbreaking. The breeder we got him from gave us another male. Two weeks later he and our female had coccidia. Our vet told us it was from us keeping hay/straw down as their bedding. He told us to take it out immediately. We did and I hate our babies have to sleep on raised platforms and not cozy bedding. We had them retested today and they are in the clear ☺️

How do you know when it’s time to mock it out?

It all depends on the time of year.
