Shame the taste isn't anything special, but the design of the packages is gorgeous. The blue/red and black/white is pretty stunning looking. And those Oreos themselves, wow.
They’ve had Oreos with pop rock type things in it before. I think they were Firework Oreos. From what I remember it was subtle then, so it doesn’t surprise me that it is the same now.

I picked up the Oreo Coke at a Speedway (7-11) here in small town NC. When it was really cold it tasted like a diet coke and oreo cookie together. I was really surprised at how distinct it was. As it warmed up it lost the distinctness and started tasting like a tootsie roll.

Agreed. My other family members said they could taste the cookie cream in it, but I only got the cookie flavor from the soda. Which I'd happily drink again, honestly. The Oreos left a Bottle Cap-like aftertaste in my mouth.
My son and I did this same test last week. I’m close to supertaster level with my senses of smell and taste. What I found was that the black side of the oreo by itself tasted like a standard oreo cookie. The red side by itself tasted unmistakably like coke syrup, but was muted when eaten all together. The pop rocks were mild and offered more of a crunch than a pop/fizz. The soda tasted like mostly coke, but with mild oreo chocolate flavoring in it, and possibly some vanilla to evoke the creme filling. Both were pretty mild experiences over all.
Congratulations James. You managed to build suspense around sampling Oreos and Coke Zero. It could be that it centered around whether or not you would survive the experiment. 4:07
I noticed the same thing for the pop rocks. I went through half a package and none of them had much popping to them. At least if I let it sit on my tongue for a little bit I would get a subtle pop feeling. As for the coke, I detected a slight chocolate cookie flavor but that was about it.
It's gross in my opinion. Too sweet. I was hoping it would be sour apple cider. Like the original sour apple with half amount of the sour. With a light spice, so the flavors wouldn't be too much.
To get the pop rocks fizz (which duplicates the carbonated fizz in the coke) you need to eat the cookie slower. Just like pop rocks, whenever liquid (or saliva) is incorporated, you get a very strong Pop rocks experience, which means you have to slow the cookie eating process down and either take little sips of water to really feel that explosion of the pop rocks or the simulated carbonated Coke fizzing in your mouth. It really explodes just like pop rocks and it also enhances the flavor of the Coca-Cola in your mouth. You cannot eat these cookies quickly like a normal cookie. The process must be slowed down and chewed much more (in order to release more saliva in your mouth) and stop chewing for a couple seconds, to let the pop rocks simulate the carbonated fizz in your mouth

I've Tasted this Oreo Flavor Coke Zero. In My Opinion it tastes almost exactly like 1 of the other Custom Creation flavors that had been Released Previously, "Dream World" I think it was. Almost as if they used the Same Formula but just Re-labeled it Oreo.
I bought the cookies today. My kid and my husband both said that one cookie of these is all they ever need in life, never again. I thought they were alright, you could smell and taste a hint of coke. But I didn’t get any popping. There was some other Oreo released previously that had popping more significant than these.
I tried the coke zero today before your review and it literally tasted like a liquid Oreo. I am in Canada though so maybe a different recipe. But the smell and flavor were strong and definitive.

Oreos don't have a strong taste normally, so it's hard to taste it elsewhere, whereas cola has a very distinctive taste, so you will taste it in anything it's been added to.

Holy crap, seeing you chase the Coke flavored Oreo with the Oreo flavored Coke (that’s a mouthful) makes my teeth hurt. But, they do look fun at least from a packaging standpoint.
I actually tried the Coke Oreo before it was released into the public. It tasted so good. The reason I got to try it before it was released. It’s because I know someone that works at a place and had some Coke Oreo in the back.
how come you didnt twist the oreo and just eat the filling and then try each half separately? i suspect you might have got a little more pop just tasting the inside, now im gonna have to go get a pack and try it for myself
Ha! I had the Oreos last night! I think they are the worst Oreo I have ever had, like EVER. It tastes to me like a dirty, flat Coke that was left out for about a week, possibly in the rain. Ugh.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference if you drink the can or bottle, but I just had the Coke in a bottle last night and it tasted pretty close to Oreo to me. Mine was also cold. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
"Easy open package"...unless you have arthritis. Last weekend I got a Coke Zero Oreo flavor because the store didn't have regular Coke Zero. Yes, the Oreo flavor was mild, and it was mostly an aftertaste, but I was definitely less satisfied with the Oreo flavor than I normally am with plain Coke Zero.
One of the cakes that my mom would cook me for my birthday when I was growing up was Coca-Cola chocolate cake. It doesn't taste like Coca-Cola but the Coca-Cola makes the batter very moist.

I wonder how quickly after the oreo you tasted the soda... I know if I try to drink flavored coffee after a donut, the coffee just doesn't taste the same as if I just drank it alone.
I like that pattern looks like valentine,as far as the soda not tasting like the cookie it's not possible, same as oreo ice cream it's not possible for it to taste exactly like the cookie cause of the texture, unless it has oreo pieces
You would probably experience the same tastes eating your standard, regular Oreo cookies and standard, regular Coke. Aside from the packaging design and cookie design/colors of the Oreos and the can and packaging graphics, this is nothing but a gimmick. It is indeed the power of suggestion that will fool the consumer as far as taste.
I'd think those would be for around Christmas time, because of their older ads. Since Halloween is coming up, perhaps they'll do some black and orange with a pumpkin spice flavor.
So that we don't have to wait a year for your update, are you planning to buy another 6-pack or another pack of the cookies? And, did you even finish the bag of cookies? Was the soda cold? If not, would it being cold have helped its taste? As for the cookie, I think you might have been a tad too proper by biting into it instead of just popping the whole cookie and chewing away.
I wonder if you took apart two Oreos and put the creme sides together you would taste the pop rocks more. Not curious enough to buy them and find out, myself, lol.
The soda isn’t bad at all. I just couldn’t see myself drinking an entire bottle. After 3 sips I got the point. The Oreos however, I didn’t hate them but you could imagine what they taste like and you’re right and just saved yourself money 😂

It is indeed the power of suggestion that will fool the consumer as far as taste.
I'd think those would be for around Christmas time, because of their older ads. Since Halloween is coming up, perhaps they'll do some black and orange with a pumpkin spice flavor.
I hope not, that would be nasty
That'd be a lot better than this Coke flavor
Hopefully it's not fizzy like the real thing.
I really like the cookies ! Have yet to try the soda version bc I can’t find it
The soda isn’t bad at all. I just couldn’t see myself drinking an entire bottle. After 3 sips I got the point. The Oreos however, I didn’t hate them but you could imagine what they taste like and you’re right and just saved yourself money 😂
