  • Let's fly my Cirrus SR22 into Grayling Army Airfield-my first time landing at a military airbase! This unique airspace, home to the largest National Guard training base in America, includes MOAs (Military Operations Areas) and restricted zones, making it a fun and educational journey. Watch as I navigate these airspace challenges and experience landing on a military-controlled runway. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or a fellow pilot, come along for the adventure and learn what it's like to fly into a military airfield!
As a new-ish pilot, I'm passionate about flying, constantly sharpening my skills, and learning from every trip. You'll witness my journey toward proficiency and safety with each flight. While I still make mistakes, every flight gets a little smoother.
Note: My videos are purely for my personal review and your entertainment. I am not a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and this content is not instructional. If you're serious about learning to fly, head to a local flight school and work with a certified CFI. I did, and it was an incredible experience!
Buckle up, enjoy the journey, and let’s fly!

That’s cool, do they allow civilian traffic at that field, without all the forms and such?

Yeah, you can fly up anytime as far as I know. They do actively use the base for military training. So it makes sense to call-up before you plan a trip. They might have some times when the civilians need to stay away. Also, pay attention to the MOAs and restricted areas. They do live fire exercises up there!

      @@ChurchAir I fly out of Z98 with an SR22T
I didn’t realize, well actually never looked at landing at the Army Base up there. Was there anything to do there?

The airbase is a ghost town unless the Guard is doing exercises. Good camping, hiking fishing and canoeing nearby though.
