  • The Alta Sky 42 is the smallest member of the Alta Sky Series and is specifically designed to give you easy access to a camera with a large lens attached, such as a:
    Sony 200-600 with hood
    Canon 200-800 with hood
    Nikon 180-600 with hood
    Sigma Sport 150-600 with hood
It can also fit additional lenses so you don't have to miss a shot in the field, along with a 12.9" tablet and a full sized tripod alongside multiple accessories.
It can also be used to carry a spotting scope kit as it includes a removable sleeve that will fit pretty much any spotting scope up to 45cm long and your tripod, along with space for personal kit.
Here Neil shares an overview of the key features so you can get a better feel for the bag.

Bright yellow interior and toggles isnt great for wildlife photographers which is a real shame as it looks a very nice well thought out bag.

      Hi Philip.
We understand the comment, and it’s a balance. The toggles and interior are designed to easy to use. Orange toggles make the zips easier to find, and orange interior makes gear in the bag easier to find. We get positive feedback on this from many photographers, and asked why all our bags don’t have it. So it’s a difficult balance.
In reality this bag is designed for long lenses, so odds are you’re some distance from the wildlife that you’re photographing, and chances of them seeing the toggles is low.
If you’re that close enough to the wildlife that they can make out the toggles, chances are you’ll be in a hide of some sort so the bag will be hidden anyway. If not, then the presence of the human squirming into position for the shot is probably going to be more distracting to the wildlife.
If the colour of the toggles remains an issue, they can be changed to a darker colour. We don’t provide them at the moment, but we’ll speak to the design team to see what we can do as it is something that is sometimes raised.
On the interior, we would assume the wildlife would notice someone setting up a camera when they arrive on location. The movement and sound would scare any wildlife away before the photographer settles down. This is the only time that the bag needs to be open, so the interior of the bag is only a small part of the distraction.
Once set up in position, you can also simply face the rear of the bag away from the location of the wildlife and they’re unlikely to see it if you need to open it. At the same time, it should be easier for you to find your lens, battery, SD card, etc against the light background, so less time fumbling around, moving making sound which is equally likely to scare any wildlife away.
So while we completely understand the immediate reaction, the reality is that the touches of orange are unlikely to be the only (or even biggest distraction) to the wildlife you’re there to photograph.
That said, we will definitely follow up on the toggles option.
      I hope that helps.
