well here's a fun factoid. My RCR1248 had exactly nothing in the gear case. I bought it used from the original owner who had used it about 10 hours. I used it another 30 and thought it should be changed. The case was empty/dry. As in I bet it was delivered dry and sold dry and remained that way. So I added about 12 to 16oz until it dripped and closed it up. Thing ran just as quiet and no different that before. would have expected it to have been shrapnel at this point. Nope, runs fine.

Not 10 years old...has newer gusset reinforcement on tail bracket.
Don't need to know where, why, or how much you paid for the cutter. Has nothing to do with gear oil. The whole video could have been 2 minuets long.
