I worked in Staines for a few months 42 years ago when I was 18. I missed the beach and mountains of Port Talbot but I'm glad it did it. Great, friendly, welcoming people.

I was there for a few months in 1985 too, doing my student teaching from Minnesota,USA. People were wonderful. I worked in a school with students who had special needs. Loved every minute.

I was born in Ashford ! I used to live in Staines 20 years and worked for 13 years. Now I live in Hampshire. Would I go back to live in Staines not on your life its a tip and that's putting it mildly.
