@10:17 Ratios in speed is NOT all about field weakening. The KO MOTO controller, which is a modified Fardriver, has default tune for Surron that sets the initial ratio to a low value so the bike doesn’t loop with a noob. There is no field weakening, it’s only limiting peak torque.
My motor is high KV, so it can go faster than I want without field weakening. So even with weak response 7 (none) i can use ratios in speed as the speed control.
If you if use the boost feature, like I do, then Maxspeed is the rpm for speed 3, and ratios in speed sets the max speed for boost.
If you do use fields weakening, rations in speed should be used to limit depth of field weakening, mainly to pull back amps to max continuous rating of the battery and motor.
Since the Fardriver DOES NOT increase voltage to fight back emf, the only way to offset battery sag is by sending more field weakening amps. This can cause an unstable situation where you need more amps and the battery sags more, until it resets and starts surging.
To get good stability, set max line current to whatever causes 0.5v/cell in series drop (10v for 20s li-ion pack), and then use rated speed or ratios in speed to pull it down to about half that if not using boost. If using boost, rated rpm will pull amps to 50% peak, and ratios in speed can be set to pull back 10%-40%, depending on how many seconds you set the boost timer for.

Ok I just got my ego mini bike. You can tell it's being held back tons. I know it's capable of more way more speed. It’s feels so held back. We need to unlock it asap get more power/top speed from the oem stock setup. Also this thing is built like a tank. I was shocked by the build quality even parts that look cheap and weak on videos/pictures were sturdy and the frame seems way over done. Like they plan to do more with these in the future way more than they need there. I like it. Explains the cost. The ability to change the batteries on the go as well is great.

Tuning is definitely an art and the ability to translate numbers and settings into a simple, easy to understand way is a gift. Ryan's the man!

Yes let’s unlock more speed using the stock battery setup! I want to keep the capability to swap batteries but want more top speed. I’ll buy an upgraded controller kit no question! 60 mph and battery swapping with the bikes looks is a dream setup of mine!

goddamn. This is very informative. Man, it would be sweet if one of these days, Ryan could go through what all the settings do. We have the manuals from FD but, the info isn't as in-depth and rich as what his experience provides.

Yeah he definitely brings real world experience to the numbers on so many different bikes and parts. Way more in depth and valuable than a manual.

Need to crank those volts to get anything out of tool bats IMO. They are too amp limited. I ran the 120v Yard Force bats. Thru an old kelly controller. You cruise on 1-2 amps at 10-15mph bike path speeds and with 250lbs of rider I'd see 19-20 miles. Pulling 75a total at 120v isn't breaking any records but it was a fun little 1st setup on a light razor. 2.8 0-30 on a draggy is pretty quick for tool bats and a 1020 motor.

@@RunPlayBack need to tie that spare 3rd EGO battery you can carry in parallel. They are usually only good for about 25a each. get 3-5 in parallel and they can boogie!
      Good luck, will be watching!

Far driver wow what an a mean controller I would love to have one you know I guess that’s why they cost that much. They cost a lot of money in my opinion but well worth the money.

I so want a bolt on kit for this bike 👌🏽plug and play there’s not really any E-bike shops in my area just a couple of stores that sell them but not work on them hence why a plug-in play kit would be very nice and who doesn’t like easy 🤙🏽
