Happy to see my PoE content creators really embracing LE. Game has come miles from when I first started playing it 3 years ago. Truly is becoming something amazing. I absolutely love PoE and have like 3k+ hours into it in the past 4 years, but LE is much differently paced and the crafting is a lot of fun. Just happy they're so different. So when I'm burned out on one I'm ready to jump into the other.
On that subject, Path of Exile was a totally different game 11 years ago. The bones are the same, but the build diversity and potential were nowhere near the heights we see today, not to mention the diversity in content. Last Epoch seems to have taken lessons from everyone in the genre, and attempted to use the best parts of each one. It's not perfect, but the developers definitely show their interest readily, and the care in crafting the experience shows.

I really love the crafting system. You find a item that is okayish when leveling and you can craft it easy to something you use for 10-20 levels with ease. It feels so good to always have usefull crafting options on items without feeling like a lootbox everytime.
So it's worth using some crafting materials early on? It's not like POE where it's a waste to alt spam something in act 6, for example?
@@JonMidori Use everything because if you really roll good stats you will use the items long enough and everything can be farmed again in a reasonable time

@@JonMidori i can tell you that the lich is one of the stronger builds but you can really make anything work in LE
@@JonMidori Some shards are rare, but it'll be kind of obvious after a little bit of playing. You'll have some 30 Increased Lightning Damage shards, and 1 Hybrid Health shard. Keep the rare ones for later, when you have more shards rolling in, and you're using them on better pieces of gear. However, there's tons of common shards that you will likely never run out of. Early on, capping resistances in the Suffixes is really easy. Later on, I've been told you'll solve resistances with other things, and Suffixes become a focus for Health, Endurance, and other defensive layers that are more impactful late game.
The game does a good job of saying this, but just in case: enemies (potentially all sources of damage) have a %penetration stat equal to the area level. While resistances are capped at 75%, you can go into an area that is level 100, and experience -25% resistance if you had exactly 75%. That's before other effects, like Shock or Poison, that reduce your resistances further per stack. I say "potentially all sources of damage" because my Lich runs Aura of Decay which inflicts self-Poison, and it felt like I was taking a LOT more damage in later parts of the game. However, this may just be because my Poison Damage was also increasing.
great video man! Really helpful. Could you also make a more advanced in-depth/optimization guide? something like golden rules. Where to craft res,hp,crit avoidance and so on. Something similiar lizard lp but an updated version. I would like to hear your thoughts on this. keep up the great work.

I'm not playing LE rn bc I'm waiting for launch BUT I'm loving all this LE content and am thumbs upping vids left and right
Long time D2 player who can't get into boring D4 and doesn't play PoE because I feel it's too late and convoluted. So I just bought Last Epoch. Think a lot of people are in my boat and looking forward too this game however the PoE comparisons fly right over my head. I'll have to see if you have some beginner guides.
I have a couple but some are a bit outdated. I'm looking to revamp a lot of them for 1.0 once I see what's changing.

There's no way to craft legendary items in Last Epoch currently.
What you can do is take an exalted item with 4 modifiers, and combine it with a Unique that has Legendary Potential in the Temporal Sanctum, to get a legendary version if the Unique with 1 randomly chosen mod per LP. But once it's made it cannot be modified.
would have been great to actually see some examples on how different glyphs work. I can read them too, i just dont know with certainty what will happen if i use them. As well would have been helpful to know what implicits and explicits are and there are 2 affix and 1 prefix but items have like 4 slots. I.. I know im dumb as a coconut but this is why i need the extra explaining, as the games explaining isnt sufficent. Other then that, the guide was very easy to follow along

I've been saving the exalted items as potential crafting items, and didn't know they were used in the legendary process. Excited that I have a stash full of them that I could craft and then possibly add when creating a legendary.
I assume you want to craft the exalted before adding to the legendary, because the crafting potential probably doesn't go across?
Correct, the crafting potential is not preserved.

I didn't realise the reduced success rate for Glyph of Despair with higher tiers so I spent the only one that has dropped for me so far on a Tier 4 which failed. Don't regret it as it was a very good exalted item. Is the chances for Glyph of Despair known? Would be helpful for deciding what tier to try and seal.
And do I start to craft while leveling or leave it for late game?

LE is taking a bit to get used to the itemization. For years now, games have basically told you that you need to find what you want and don't do any crafting until the very end. I do some crafting mid leveling and then the items I find are all "worse", so my brain tells me to throw them out. In reality, they have potential to be upgrades, but I've been conditioned not to look at them that way

Pro Tip. There is a transfer button for the mats. Yeah, no one told me this.
Lowest Tier first? What does that mean. I have dmg% T2 and and something else on T1, so I begin with this, even when dmg is better for me? confused.
If both affix's are something you need, you start with the lower to get the most out of the crafting potential. If only the 1 affix is important, then upgrade that, but I wouldn't waste too many mats with it, because it sounds like it would only be a temporary item during leveling.
If something is tier 1 and trying to go to tier 2, it may use 1-15 potential. From tier 2 to tier 3, it may use 3-17 potential. If you have an item with a tier 1 and a tier 2 affix and it only has 16 potential. If you upgrade the tier 2 to tier 3 first, it could use all of your potential and leave you with a tier 1 and tier 3 item. If you upgrade the tier 1 to a tier 2 first, it could use 1-13 potential and no matter what you are left with at least 3, which allows you to upgrade the tier 2 to a tier 3. You would then end up with a tier 2 and a tier 3.
As long as you have the minimum potential, you can upgrade the item, so to ensure you get both upgrades, you would want to go the second route.

Hey appreciate the video, how do you actually craft end game gear on your characters? Do you just adjust your filter and wait until specific item base drops with 3 affixes you want and then craft on it? Or do you start from 0?
Yep, wait for a good drop with 2-3 affixes then craft on it.

Hi Tenkiei! thanks for this video, really explains a lot in terms of crafting. I am wondering in the case of crafting legendaries, is it not better to remove affixes on exalted until 1-2 remains to be combined with the unique item for a garantueed affix transfer ? or at least increasing the chance to get the preferred affix on the legendary.
When creating Legendary items, as mentioned at 8:18, you need the item to be both Exalted and with 4 mods, so you can't even try if you remove mods if the rune of removal

Question what do I do with items I don't need or want? Do I just sell them? It seems salvaging is too expensive to simple salvage items.
I leave them on the floor/drop them.

I would say that for a starting gear where the base matter you should start from white item it's when you are higher in the endgame that you need to find exalted base.

Little complicated for me, you need to have played other aRPGs to understand much, since you dont go into detail of what a mod is or other stuff.

There's no way to craft legendary items in Last Epoch. They're exclusive to the dungeon "Temporal Sanctum" and cannot be modified once created.
honestly not that helpful. talking about what you need to do rather than showing.. as a new player i have no idea what you were saying.
You might want to mention the part where you're crafting legendary items, as it is the only real point of crafting. You make a small mention of it at the end, show a gauntlet, and boom done. You told me nothing. A good beginners guide, but it's not comprehensive.
Because there's nothing to say you don't get choices with legendary items it's "put 2 things in ??? item done" lol. I'll make a video that covers legendary item crafting when crafting is added to legendary items.
