You're the first one that I've seen mention Glyph of Insight + Rune of Research combo for sealing affixes away, and oh boy have I been waiting for it. It's definitely possible I have missed it since I obviously can't consume all content, but it's now the first time I came across it.

Once I figured out I could do that I realized there's a TON of power I was leaving on the table, that's what inspired the whole video! Initially I kinda wrote rune of research off because "I don't really need that experimental affix right now" but then I realized they're basically a ticket to a cheaper, more reliable glyph of despair, and now they're one of my favorites. I'd say don't tell the devs but it appears that I'm a bit late on that front.
As a D4 refugee, I greatly appreciate these vids - quality videos! I can tell you put a lot of effort into your stuff man, awesome to see!

Thank you for this video.really needed it , would gladly hope you make a 'gear progression guide' for newbies. i.e from fresh lvl 50s, on their way to clearing up the normal monoliths and empowered ones. most videos present shows the process of crafting OP stuff, but doesnt do well explaining the process of progression like you do on the basics

not sure with the equal leveling, as the values from the tiers go up non-linear.
i love the crafting in this game. and hopefully with CoF you get more attempts to make those perfect gears, because it does feel bad to brick an item with a one-off mod, or run out of FP.
If you have say a unique with 4 LP and an exalted with a t6 or t7 of exactly what you want, can you run of removal gamble to get rid of the other three affix and then use another exalted to apply different rolls for the remain lp? Pretty curious if I can gamble on all of my exalted items until I have four exalted items to smash into a 4 lp unique
So we should only forge items that are exalted (purple) not any other color? I’m confused on the amount of forging potential.
One thing you might consider is even though hier tiers cost more potential, you get more value from upgrading from t4 to t5 than to t3 to t4 for example
You kind of skimmed over why you want the tier of the affixes to be as even as possible (or I missed it), could you explain more?
The higher tier the affix, the more maximum forging potential it can use, therefore theoretically speaking, you can use less forging potential by upgrading affixes evenly as opposed to putting each one to max straight away.

In addition to what other people have mentioned, you also maximize your chances for crit crafts to give you free tiers.
But the scaling is much better in the higher tiers so many lower tier affixes aren't as impactful as a few higher tiers
7 Minutes into the video you mention the experimental affixes and to use the rune of research to get a glyph of insight, but for example if I want the low hp stat from an experimental item that is not exalted into an item that is exalted or legendary, how would I do that?
If you slam a 2LP item, will you get an affix and suffix or pure rng can be 2 affix 2 suffix or 1 of each?
It can be any combination of 2 affixes (except for sealed affixes).

Okay so lets say I seal away an affix, craft the remaining 4 to whatever it is I desire. Is the sealed affix still on the item and also working? Or how does it work? Also really nice video :D
Yes, sealed affixes continue to work. As a sealed affix, it can't be further modified in any way, and can't be transferred to a Unique with LP.
What level should I worry about the forge? I'm only 30 and still finishing the story.

There's no limit to the number of exalted affixes rolled on an item. The theoretical highest tiers would be 4 T7 affixes, one of them experimental which you can seal, and then craft a T5 back on for a total of 33 Tiers. That's theoretical, though, and a 4x T7 item is absurdly rare.
Sealed affixes can go up to T4, but the chance to seal is lower the higher the tier of the affix.
I keep hearing the term "Slamming" when crafting and i'm still not sure what that is.
Two Questions: One, can a Critical Success upgrade a T6 affix to T7? Two, can you use a Rune of Removal to try to remove all the bad affixes off of an Exalted Item so that you guarantee what you want to slam into a Legendary Potential Item?
T5 is highest craftable, so no. Removal on bad affixes is a gamble, since it can eat up your exalted affix, or leave you with too little forging potential to finish the item. You can't guarantee what the legendary will take, unless it has 4 LP
You need full 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes on an item for LP uniques.

Exalted items are better than rares, but the mods are random so you need well rolled exalteds.
that bow is nasty. i'll need to make some pretty great pieces of gear with my falcon build im gonna go.
i've finally decided to go falcon/boom boom ballista/explosive trap. focusing on throwing dmg/atk spd, since boom boom ballistas scales mostly with crit and dex scaling, and throwing dmg/spd will HIGHLY scale both explosive trap (both cold conversion) and falcon skills. can't wait to see how it turns out
i used a loot filter but im just getting so much blue and yellow items i cant keep up shattering them should i stop picking up stuff under exalted or will i regret it while crafting
If you're doing circle of fortune, you're gonna want to hide most exalted items as well. There are way too many of them, only show the ones that are good for your build, or those that have 2 or more exalted affixes
Exalted items have higher forging potential, so in addition to have the extra stat tiers, they're also easier to make into perfect items. At a certain point you'll really only equip exalted, and should only show magic and rares that have rarer affixes that you need shards for. If you downloaded a loot filter, it's going to be generalized, so as you gear up you should expect to tweak it to fit your needs.

You can still seal experimental but not regular.

actually didnt know that sealing means sending stat to it's own sealed space on the item, i thought its sealing one of the upgrade options, so u have only 3 instead of 4 and one sealed, i saved some of the gylps because i didnt want to ruin my items with them, now i know i was so wrong lol
And most ppl thinks sealing = no stats given but they actually still givea u that stats

It's ok you'll brick a few at first but once you get the hang of crafting... you'll still brick stuff because that's just how it works! Plenty more loot on the floor.
My best item is a 0 forging potential T0/T0/T0/T0.

Lol saying glyphs of despair are rare is crazy, theyre more common than ascendant runes.
I bought this game after playing my first league in PoE thinking the crafting would be less complex, now I feel like I was more comfortable in PoE.

Are you frequently using your Runes of Research on experimental bases? If not, pick up all the experimental bases from mages you kill and research a few to generate insights.
