Thank you, that was really helpful. I hear and read so much about silicones being bad for hair and so many companies have removed them from their products, it’s good to hear from someone qualified 😊
If i use silicones all the time my hair gets flat and dry. It prevents moisture from entering the hair. It takes 2 weeks to get it out of your hair after using it a few times so it builds up with time. I think its because i have fine high porosity hair. It works well for thicker hair.
People can have different experiences with it. I have fine hair as well. It “preventing” moisture from entering your hair is actually a key point when choosing silicone products, as they should have conditioning ingredients that go well with the silicones to avoid that dry feeling. But also water soluble and evaporative silicones as mentioned can feel lighter in that regard. Either way, as mentioned: the important thing is to use what works for you 🤍
Silicone is something i love using on my hair, my shampoo i use has it in it Ouai fine hair, i make sure to detox and alternate shampoo. Definitely feel my hair is less tangled since using a serum with it in. Tried without and it didn't work ❤
I have to agree! I haven’t tried the OAUI fine hair shampoo yet but it’s definitely on my wishlist. And yess, silicone serums are a must to avoid the amount of tangles that come with long hair!
Both cyclopentasiloxane and cyclomethicone are considered evaporative because they don’t dissolve in water, but instead help emulsify other silicones in the product, or water-oil solutions. Once applied they usually evaporate, but depending on the formulation they may deposit on the hair a little and they don’t rinse out with water, but shampoo should easily remove them if this happens. I hope this makes sense!

Thank you for watching! It’s sad that some companies change their formulas just to follow a trend! But… it is what it is 🥲

I can have water soluble silicones like amodimethicone but dimethicone? Dislike 👎🏽

I don't see your favorite silicone shampoo link in the list. I think you called it JU Shampoo?
Oh I forgot to link it, just added it now! I’ll share the link with you here as well 🤍 It’s joonhaircare.com
@@basicallyrapunzel thanks
Thank you. You have cyclopentasiloxane in 2 different lists. Is it both non water soluble and evaporative?
