It was an amazing experience. Andrew was awesome and was a wealth of information throughout the filming. The whole Whistler Blackcomb team were great to work with to make this video happen. Thanks for watching.

Nice job. Great guy giving you the run down. Also really liked that plaid cat in the background.

Hi LB… yes, Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and gave us so much information about the Whistler Snowcats. Too much information for just one video! Thanks for watching

What a cool experience for you !!!!! The PB I got to run was a steering wheel type. and didn't have the tiller on it any more. we didn't use it for grooming anymore but instead for us maintenance/snowmakers to move guns around, haul tools etc.. No fancy lcd screen, button controls, etc, just a joystick to control the blade. Our actual groomer - the br400 was a stick control like that one, but still no where near as fancy as that!. back then, (1998) they didn't have winches like that. Insted , they had a designated snowcat with a big winch on the deck, so anywhere that required a winch cat needed 2 different machines and operators, working together. We didn't have one at the hill I worked at, as it was just a small, non-mountain hill in Alberta Canada - Canyon Ski Area.

I must say, overall, I did like the Bombardier (now Prinoth) much more than the PistenBully. So did everyone else

Sounds like they have progressed since 1998 when you were driving one. Andrew, the guy that was in the video with me, said that they do similar with their older snow cats, either use them as spare parts, or in the case of Whistler, they have turned one into a mobile DJ booth on the hill.., and it goes around from lift line to lift line entertaining people with music. They sell old ones off to Farmers also. Interesting what you say that winch cats were separate from snow cats.
He was also saying that the design focus is to keep the driver super comfortable, and you may have noticed how sensitive the blade joystick was, this combination allows drivers to get through the night without fatigue. Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed my snow cat videos, and I hope to make some more in the future. Thanks for watching.

    WB is a Vail resort.
I hope the mechanics are getting top dollar, but I doubt it.

Just watched your Bell 412 video, now this. Good job. Looks like you really enjoyed this. I worked at a ski hill a few years ago and really wanted a ride in one of these beauties. I am envious of you.

Thanks Steve, glad you enjoyed my video. They certainly are little beauties! The comfort in the cabin is amazing, and the power is there for everything you need. Andrew who was instructing me in the cabin was a great guy and shared so much information, I couldn’t even squeeze it all into the video. I also had a ride in a Bison X snowcat at Perisher ski resort about a year ago, you can see that on my channel too, if you have time. Thanks for watching.
