I have had this gun for just over a year and have put over 5k rounds and I can tell you the trigger gets only marginally better. But like so many things if you shoot something enough you get good with it and I am shooting .19 splits. The reset helps with that a lot. Have not had one issue the whole time and customer service is second to none. I have only called for advice and general questions and they are always happy to help. Flawless performance

I am a huge Glock guy and a Glock 19 was the first pistol i ever owned. I love how easy it is to disassemble and customize. First thing i do when i get any glock is replace the sighs and trigger. I like yellow front night sights and a blacked out u notch rear. I also like overwatch falx trigger. When i saw the MR920 Elite i had to see it. Soon as i picked it up i was hooked and had to have one. It comes with a great set of night sights, good trigger, very cool slide work, fluted barrel, and their optics models are totally different. Most optics models you have to use a plate but Shadow System is different. They use these spacers , so you don t have to use plates ( that make your dot sit highter and make u use higher co witness sights ). It shoots flatter than a glock 19 and is just so much more comfortable to shoot. There is a break in period so you might have a malfunction or 2 during the first 100 rds ( i never had any issues with mine though ). Again, I am a Glock fan boy and love glocks ,but this MR920 Elite took my Glock 19 s place. Now i rotate the Shadow Systems MR920 Elite and my Glock 43x mos. If your looking at a MR920 I would recommend getting the one without the threaded barrel ( unless you intend to shoot supressed ) bcause it just easier to conceal carry. There are several different models and I would recommend the MR920 Elite. It is the same size as a Glock 19 and if you figure all the extras you get stock it isn t a bad deal. You add up a good trigger, some slide work, night sights you ll put on a Glock 19 and your closer in price than you think. Dang this is longer than i thought but if you like Glock 19 s , do yourself a favor and go to you Local Gun Shop and hold one ( you ll see what i mean about how awesome it feels ).

This I'd exactly how I feel. G19 gen 4 was my everyday carry. As soon as I picked up the mr920 I was in love. I've had none of the problems these guys have talked about with the trigger or magazines. It's far more comfortable to shoot than the G19. I bought 2 of them brand new at a local FFL that buys in bulk and has flash sales on Friday hot sheet... $600 each brand new. I'll take that all day over the Glock.

I have owned an XR920 Combat(Glock 45 clone) for 8 months. Yes, the trigger isn't great. Yes, they cost about $200 more than a Glock. This is why it was worth it to me. The straight grip insert for the grip on the XR makes a significant difference in removing the hump, the grip profile is similar to a Sig 320. It has iron night sights, I have replaced the plastic sights on every Glock I own immediately after I buy them. The factory sights are 1/3 co-witness and work perfectly with the Holosun 507c that I put on it. The gun comes milled for a red dot. The grip stippling is excellent. I put Talon grips on every Glock I have ever purchased and it wasn't necessary with this gun. The XR has an extended beaver tail without adding the thickness of a grip add on. The front slide serrations are excellent. The frame is flared and stippled where the thumb on your support hand rests. It comes with a mag well from the factory. It's 2.5 ounces lighter than a Glock, which isn't great for a competition gun but is noticeable when you carry. The trigger well is larger and doesn't pinch my finger like every Glock I've ever owned. The trigger guard is undercut from the factory. I've been shooting this gun in IDPA matches for 7 months and have had no reliability issues. In summary, by the time you add co-witness iron night sights, grip stippling and an undercut trigger guard on an optics ready gun you will spend the extra $200 on a Glock MOS. Throw in the magwell and the fact that the straight grip insert can give you a grip angle that you can't get with a Glock and it's worth the cost to me. Shadow Systems has made a Glock with all of the upgrades and changes that many competitive shooters and concealed carriers make to their Glocks.

The real benefit of the mr 920. is not just that it's a fancy Glock clone but instead that shadow systems redesigned the slide internals and extractor so that trijicon and halosun optics can direct mount with full length screws and no adapter plates making the connection much stronger and also allowing the optics set lower.

As someone who has a couple Shadow systems the triggers get better after about 500 rounds. My mr920 beats any Glock trigger I've ever shot and I have two Glocks. And have had the opportunity to shoot many students Glocks. Maybe I just got a deal on my mr920 but by the time I would have had the site changed and a few other mods I wanted it would have been way over the price of a Glock. Again don't get me wrong I love Glocks their sewing machines they just run and run. I just think the Shadow Systems is American made and it's what a Glock should be practically from the box

MR920 Combat owner here. For anyone interested, this is literally the best handgun I have ever owned. Better than my vp9, 365 sc, and all the rest. (There are many). It has a 200 rd break in and it’s legit. Mine hung up about 6 times in that period with duty ammo. After 200 rounds, flawless, more accurate than a regular 19, slightly better trigger. I don’t know what he is talking about, my trigger is standard glock. I suspect the gun needs some rounds through it. These ARE tighter than a regular glock. A few clarifications or more detail. It has adjustable back straps to emulate the grip angles of 1911, sig or glock. The optics cut doesnt require a mounting plate and will fit almost any red dot. RMR, Holosun, Delta point etc and because it doesnt use a plate for the dot the excellent factory sights are high enough to clear the dot for backups lower 1/3 witness.

The trigger, A person can get use to it to know where it brakes but they are still like a piece of crap. My Daisey bb gun has as good or better trigger than either one of the shadows. Hopefully they will come out with an upgrade. More money. Keep your head down and your powder dry.

I have the 17 version and it had a rough break in period and after I would get occasional failures to go into battery during mag changes. I sent it back and they put in a new barrel but still had the issue. Popped in a Glock gen 4 recoil spring and been 100% reliable since then. It’s a nice shooting gun and I like the aggressive texture they do but you are right about the trigger. Mine is very heavy and should be better given the gucci Glock price!

  • @MarkLeberer

Here are some potential reasons why someone might choose to purchase a Shadow Systems MR920 over a Glock:
Ergonomics - The MR920 frame design has more stippling and undercuts than a standard Glock, which provides increased grip and may improve control for some shooters.
Customization - The MR920 comes with removable magwells, adjustable backstraps, and optics mounting plates as standard. For a Glock, these are additional aftermarket upgrades.
Accuracy - Shadow Systems promotes the MR920 as having tighter manufacturing tolerances and an improved trigger over factory Glock triggers, potentially increasing out-of-box accuracy.
Aesthetics - The MR920 has an attractive slide cut and distressed bronzed finish not available on factory Glocks. This may appeal more to some buyers.
Exclusivity - The MR920 is a less common pistol than mass-produced Glocks, which some shooters may value.
Parts support - Since it is based on the Glock platform, the MR920 shares many parts and has aftermarket support. This may appeal to tinkerers.
Value - The MR920 costs a bit more than comparable Glock models, but some buyers may feel the upgrades and custom features justify the extra expense.
Potential downsides compared to a Glock include less ubiquitous availability, unproven long-term reliability track record, and the risks that come with a smaller company. Overall, the choice comes down to shooter preference and whether the MR920's features and design improvements warrant the higher cost over a base Glock platform.
Note they tend to cost more...

I love the 1911 style grip, how the Polymer frame is alot stronger than the Glock frame, how the slide rails are stronger and a bit longer. And how the triger housing has a higher undercut for better grip. Thats a Glock in a Suit. I prefer the P80 PFC9 though, my tigger is almost perfection.
