  • A quick video comparing the original Fuzz Face circuit using selected germanium transistors (Q1 AC107 hFE 90, Q2 2SB324 hFE 120) with Dunlop JH-2 Fuzz using low hFE 2N3905 silicon transistors (Q1 hFE 85, Q2 hFE 100).
    Thanks for watching.

What would happen if you just plugged in some more electricity to the transistors or somewhere else in the circuit? Could you modify the sound? Or maybe electricity with a voltage control dial.

Weird things can happen, from modifying the output sound to the creation of fires. Try to keep the voltages above 0V and below 25V. Place a 250mA, or lower, fuse in series with the supply. If you see smoke coming from the circuit, switch off the supply immediately.

Right, smart advice. It would be cool to plug a wire in or otherwise modify the physicality (including energy parts) of an effects circuit to cause different, unexpected, and even unique (based on the randomness of physical parts under their resistances to electricity) sounds.@@unrelatedactivities
