I think that is the reason why I love the plastic beach era the most. The gall and dare to put fictional characters through some tragedy was inspiring, and at the time it was wildly comforting.
when it got to the cutaway at 3:02 i was half expecting "close your eyes and see..." from all alone. these covers are awesome, you do a great job on these!
this is very accurate! i wouldn't be surprised if this song had replaced Dare on the genuine album, one thing about demon days is that almost all of it's songs have a format, loud bass, a dystopian feel, and lastly a short heavenly part that then returns back to the main song.
I can't believe how you managed to add a shift in styles midway through just like white light and All Alone. The transition to the orchestra is so beautifully done. Literally sounds exactly like Danger Mouse's production style!!!
I have a private playlist I've been making over the past few years called The Best, I only add to it a few times in a year because its dedicated to the best videos I've come across on TH-cam. Wasn't sure at first but for that ending segment I'm adding this one to it. Awesome cover man
I would love to, but it would cost extra since I’ll need a new Spotify account and to pay for the monthly copyright license. I may start a Patreon to help support that
sorry the subbass isnt intense enough, my car speakers haven't been blown out yet (i kid, i love demon days to bits lol. FANTASTIC cover^2, this is crazily conceptual and i love it.)
I just loved it! I singed along with this "remake", i just got a bit lost in the start since i normally sing in the original speed, but i got this one rhytm soon. Anyways, very nice, good job, bro!
@@matheusphelipeoliveirasimi3460 A couple things come to mind: Demon Days live had Ike Turner come out for the piano part, which sorta highlighted him more and made it a bit jazzier Starting with the Humanz tour they added that “every planet we reach is…dead!” section featuring the choir and strings. They had a different ending during the Plastic Beach tour as well. And I think they changed it yet again for the most recent tour (can’t recall exactly) Could be any of these!
The only thing I would’ve done differently is not use a beat machine. Only because Russell was present during their recordings of demon days. Therefore no need for the beat machine. Still great work tho I’m just saying what I would’ve done. Not criticizing
From a lore aspect I understand, but just about every song on Demon Days uses programmed or sampled drums, so it was needed in order to capture the right aesthetic.

Agreed 100%!!
bros just reaching out of alternate realities for these
This is so cool. Broken is one of my favorite Gorillaz songs and this reimagining works really well for it

Also love how the song doesn't abruptly ends like the original. It fades out, letting the song breath. Great attention to detail❤❤❤
The bit at 3:02 is what really sold it
3:02 OH MY GOD-
I burnt this onto a CD amongst other Gorillaz songs. Very good.
I love how this has a more melancholic feel than the original, it fits perfectly!
Sounds like this is inspired by All Alone, especially with that breakdown at the end being reminiscent of Martina-Topley Bird's feature on that song
Good ear!
got recommended this randomly and it is SO gorgeous + nails the style perfectly… defo deserves way more interaction
Couldn't agree more
THIS IS F*CKING AWESOME! The sound is exactly the same as in Demon Days. This deserves glory!
I like how if this were legit, it still would've been my fav from the album
Oh my god theres even a whole DEMON DAYS STYLE TONE SHIFT!! Your work is incredible dude ❤️
man it is crazy how you can take something that was already perfect, change it up, and have it still be perfect
That dystopian Demon Days feel really works here 👅
ngl, I feel like majority of this would play in the background of a phase 2 ident

I don't know if I like this more than the original, but I still really love it. Amazing!
Man this is so COOL i LOVE the synthy melodica bits they really bring me back
I just found this in January. But this is going to end up in my "2024 recap"
Empire ants on The Now Now or Cracker Island?
Omg, On Melancholy Hill on Humanz with the vibes of Andromeda or Ticker Tape?
Someone else actually did empire ants on cracker island but sadly it has no vocals

I love this!!! Im curious if you have the instrumentals to your covers, I'd love to listen to them!
I don’t right now, but I could probably make that happen! Will keep that in mind
+1, the production on this is great. I absolutely love the drums. You nailed Danger Mouse's style on that album.
The instrumentals are on my Patreon now!

Dude, yes.
Love this, love the concept :D

There should be actual bass and guitar.
This is an actual bass guitar track that I played. There is also a ton of electric and acoustic guitar throughout the track.
@eggbeatz Let me clarify, I meant there needs to be more to get that Demon Days feel. This still feels like Plastic Beach.
The music is on point but the vocals are off quite a bit
Dude relax. It's hard to imitate another singer's voice. Give the guy a break this sounds awesome!
All good! I can take criticism haha. It’s true, I’m not Damon 😆
@eggbeatz ehh "quite a bit" is not accurate or fair. But good on you for being humble. I thought you nailed the vocals.
@@johne2404 it doesn’t sound like Damon albarn, that’s pretty fair and accurate to me
Considering no song on Demon Days gets to 5 minutes, no. It sounds like some shitty demo.
