That Rolex is goooorgeous. Holy goddamn shit. I think, for me, it's the contrast of that soft green "Depp Sea" against the dark blue/black gradient dial. And ever since the first time I've really taken a look at their clasps I love em. Looks comfy and secure. Also didn't realize how good F.P. Journe watches look. Very unique looks, with a vintage feel. I love it. And I love these videos man. I could listen to you talk watches for a long time. I only wish you did more Seiko/Grand Seikos. I know you're just going with your products but I wanna hear about watches that are more in my price range hahahaha
I have the Deepsea D-Blue, and I've gotta say, it absolutely IS a watch you can wear anywhere, including as a formal piece. It's an attention-getter for sure, but the size is something you get used to very quickly. After wearing it for a day, you're completely used to it and other watches feel like toys by comparison when you put those on.
How cool is the dial-integration of the cyclops for the date in the AP Offshore Wempe? Nicely done and underappreciated. Awesome delivery, Tim! All the best, Severin
Yeah, the olny thing coupling the 2, is the base plate. They are not independent of one another, resonance in this sense must be physical. The vibrations of one balance are coupled to its pinions and move train, all the way up to the base plate which is the physical element that transfers the vibrations to the other train and so on. If you suspend two clocks next to one another in empty space you will have no "resonance". For the pendulum clocks it's the table they sit on. For Journe, the base plate. Bottom line is, you must have physical connection/engagement to have resonance.
So I reached out to a couple of the ADs here about the palm dial DJ and no date sub, and I think I may be lucking into one of those weird situations where the sold out watch is actually available. Like walking into a random AD and finding a Hulk available. We'll see, wish me luck. Edit: if that cow strap was on anything else we would be calling it the most ridiculous strap ever
Nahhh the black labels are the nicest ones they do I think, the rest just look really strange and almost like a dress watch version of a Richard Mille 😂 sorry boys but I just can’t agree on this one 😬

Interesting lineup today Tim. That Genta was different and cool but that JLC chronograph really caught my eye. Looked like a bargain to boot.
