ahh, i am always recommended lady's vintage channels, but never men's. i mean, it is likely partly due to the ratio of female to male creators who make these videos, but that just means it is all the more special when i discover these channels (though finding any historical/vintage dress channel is pretty cool).
@@ns7023 start with @BernadetteBanner. - if I remember or if you want to contact me I'll look to the names of channels - I usually remember the maker's names!
I love the lack-of-dress-code in IT. Ours is simply "no shorts, spaghetti straps, or flip-flops". From day to day I've worn Edwardian dresses, 50s dresses, or jeans/flannel shirts.
Haha, so funny. I also work in IT and I'm known for always wearing a shirt ,tie, a suit or a jacket or trousers. Nice to known that techies can be stylish also. Keep up the good work, love your channel.
You're such an underrated creator with such high quality aesthetics at play here sir. I pray that your channel grows into something more, something beautiful. Cheerio!
Well you've outdone yourself with that lookbook. The music! I wept. Really. Just terrific. Some drone shots would have been tasty (just think of the 4K swooping in on you through the trees in that park!). You should design and produce comparable menswear videos for Brioni, Canali, Zegna, Etro (all the big hot gorgeous Italian houses). I see a director's title in your future; say bye-bye to IT. Here in Los Angeles we'd die of heatstroke in those outfits, but they're wonderful. Of course. As always. You stand alone for style + substance in the TH-cam menswear space. Bravo.
Very stylish! I really like the three piece. Would you consider doing a similar video for people who dont do office jobs, where suits arent practical/appropriate? (Not that it would be of use to me, my retail job has a uniform 🙄)
@@Vintagebursche A rundown of 'casual' vintage hats/caps would be very useful. I'm partial to fiddler's caps, but am looking for other options (that arent flat caps).
@@edwardgurney1694 I am absolutly with you. Here in Germany you can buy phantastic hats and caps but to be honest, I don't know which hat goes with wich suit.
I hate retail uniforms. They're so demeaning. I used to work a bank job where I *wasn't allowed* to wear suits-just awful poly-blend button-ups and black slacks. No overclothes. Never mind that wearing a dress shirt alone is basically going about "en nudus." It's because I was a teller, at the time. Gotta preserve those good old class distinctions! (I'm an American.) We also had to be referenced by our first names, while bankers had the option of using their last name. It wasn't coming from management. This was corporate policy. No one at the ground level seemed to realize how it was rubbing in our faces a class divide (with tellers as "service workers" rather than professionals). It was a bad match for how they wanted us to behave, to view our jobs.
These outfits wear well; that is, they transcend a particular time and season, and because they are classy and subdued, you don't tire of them. These are excellent investments.
Question about classic British style double breasted pinstripe suits. What type of Waistcoat is historically worn with a double breasted suit? Should the Waistcoat be single breasted or double breasted? Lapel or no lapel?
Best dressed ever, don't give up your style for nobody. Your style is the best is a gentleman 🕴️ should look. Not this dress code of today which people don't take care of themselves . So your style is super 👌 keep it up 🙌🔥👌🍾🥂
Do you have any vintage style suggestions for those who dont like a tie and suit? All Ive been able to come up with is canvas high waist trousers and a henley shirt.
Hi, my name is Romulus and I am a leather craftsman, I follow your channel with great interest, could you present leather bags, leather goods, leather accessories than were worn during the 1920s ?
Why is brown not an appropriate colour scheme for office wear? Anybody? I vaguely remember clothing rules from my youth, but they're archaic and in this modern world, the rules are created out of the brownian motion of working and playing together. I understand the black tie thing (usually reserved for funerals) but the brown suit? Help?
(I'll write in English here instead of German.) My no1 issue with any styling is that I don't have space to keep things, even if I can afford it - especially shoes, hats, and bags. I am still bound to living with my parents and sharing my room with my sister. 60sqm that is for all of us. I remember how I was a kid and planned to buy a small appartment once I finish university. And now I'm done with uni, and I can't afford anything even with my job. (My parents were the lowest low-class workers, she a cleaning lady, he a construction worker, yet they still could afford buying our appartment while keeping their 80s-built house intact, AND having kids and a car and vacation. That's why I inherently do believe that my generation is screwed. What did I even study all those years for?). However, I remember when I did an internship in China and people there had so little space, so I shouldn't complain about my living condition. This comment just serves as a reminder that when you see someone on the streets who does not have nicely matched-up outfits: They might not be lazy - they maybe just don't have the space at home for it. I'd have to almost daily take out all of my clothes from my tiny closet, match up everything in front of the mirror in our hallway, and put everything back neatly (otherwise it won't fit back in). This is not supposed to be any kind of complaint, though, and I still enjoy watching you very much. And one day, ONE DAY, I'll have enough space for such a style, too!😃🤩 Thanks for the eyecandy (this should sound in the least cringe way possible😂👌)
Wie schade dass du nicht auch eine deutsche Vertonung hast. 😢. Das ist aber mein persönliches Problem. Die braune Tasche, welche du anfangs trägst - großartig. 👍👍👍 - Eldorado? Irgendwann trage ich auch mal mehr „ elegant“ . Passt auch gut zum Haus. Gruß,Carsten, Villa Petersberg
I like the look. I get a bit irritated by the appologies that some of your otfit might not be appropriate to office in certain setting. To be honest, those settings are lawfirms, diplomats and maybe some bank/finance sector places. People working in those setting know what they expected to wear. As for the rest of office work, these clothes are so above standard that it is no longer about browns or patterns. All of these would be fine in an University :) But I definitely need a gray suit!

If you will make a video about mens everyday bags, travel bags I will be happy. All bags that I saw too feminin or plane ugly. Leather bags looks really good - but they too expensive and I (sounds weird) dont want to carry with me piece of dead animal. Сarpet bags? What do you think about them?
I work as a craftsman and switched over to traditional german carpenter suits. Black Cord trousers with bell ends, a black cord vest and a white shirt without collar and ofcause the black hat. I came to it because I can't stand the modern work suits for craftsmen. They look like childrens clothing.
On a related note, in the old days Electricians and electrical inspectors wore suits, not today, they, wear sandshoes, jean and a T-shirt,. May be the dimise of the real chap's suits started in 1960's?
I’d love to wear a Bowler hat here in Glasgow, and although I’m an Atheist, I’d probably be stabbed for people thinking I’m a member of the Protestant orange order we have over here. It’s a shame.
