    These negative comments show how simple American society is. This woman is 55 years old and has not had any cosmetic procedures. She is not a drug addict and never has been! How disrespectful smh She owns a vegan soul food cafe in LA! She is a whole mood and hella down to earth Her son is smart and successful too😌I’m wondering how many of you will look at 55 but by then Botox will be over the counter smh. This is real aging people!!!

      Only sometimes. I'm 13% Caucasian and when I was a child I looked mixed or muloto to some degree as I started to age out,I now look Afrikani to a greter degree. You wouldn't be able to tell if I had any other racial mix (es) in me. But one thing is sort of true about the aging part is that I still look pretty youngish for my age.

      No, when they are babies and younger they look more White, in most cases! Hair texture changes and skin gets darker because of sun damage. I have a whole family of mixed people and children are Whiter looking. But it happens either way sometimes.

      @Sweet potato Pie my father was mixed and when he was a child in the 1940s--with his Black family members--White people would ask him if he was okay and why are you with them. He passed for White as a young child. I think after puberty and the hormones come into play, hair gets curlier, skin darkens, and Black features dominate. However, sometimes when they hit 50 and hormones and collagen decreases, they could start looking White again?

They want to look ambiguous and mixed because men love mixed and light skinted black women...So do they really want to be black? I'm starting to see why so many people want to draw the line between the Biracial and black women. Because everyone from the outside have drawn a line and it determines how we are treated.

      Ugly people get treated like shit you can be black, white or orange dont matter.

I remember Angie as funny, kind to everyone, and just beautiful. We all talked about how we "knew" she would be a model. I am wondering if she remembers a horrible racial incident we experienced together...our basketball team were attacked by a predominantly black high school team, and the game had to be called. As we tried to escape Angie was targeted. It was an extremely traumatic event in my life. I'm wondering how it has affected her in the long term. God Bless you Angie. • @SuggahBrown
      @SuggahBrown 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@dawsonfamily9214 It's complicated to describe their genes. There are creole people that can have the same two parents and one child can come out looking like her, and their sibling could be dark skinned with her same hair texture; while both of their parents are brown or dark skinned and not have any of the genes that their children picked up. There are creole people that have brown skinned parents and can come out lighter than her. So yes they're mixed in theory, but when it comes down to it, they're not necessarily mixed. If you have two black parents and 2 black grandparents on both sides, but happen to come out looking like her or lighter, you're still black. I've met creole people that look like white european people ( skin, hair, eyes, nose, etc), but they weren't white; they were creole. It's quite fascinating imo.

      @@dawsonfamily9214 No, because a lot of these people do not have direct white mixed ancestry. Their white ancestors tend to be many generations back. That's why two dark or brown skinned creole people from dark or brown skinned parents can have a bright skinned child with recessive genes. Some of them could also be a far removed descendant of native Americans or even both European and native ancestry.

What general population doesn't realize about the business is many actors make the character with their own natural characteristics. Which is why an actor with an entertaining personality can make a small role not intended to be significant into one of the greatest and most popular facets in a project. They regret not giving the character Ezel a bigger part in the storyline for that reason.

Being brown skin I don’t truly understand the dark skin or light skin plight ... however I have a dark skin and a light skin daughter , and we as parents along with their brother are SURE to instill in them that they are BEAUTIFUL and compliment them both on their complexion bc I don’t want them growing up having a fit bc someone says they don’t like their complexion. Or caring for that matter about who does or does not like their complexion.

    • @rightweaponry908

      See this is amazing! Because what people don't want to understand is that only complimenting your light skin daughter will of course make your dark skin daughter feel bad, but, it will also make your light skin daughter feel uncomfortable. Being praised while the people you love and identify with are not praised in the same way is not a privilege, it's an excluder and it makes a lot of internal confusion. I applaud you💐

Its made an impact on them for sure but they came out incredibly beautiful and sweet as can be. I've raised them as a single father since they were 2-3 years old, they are born same day one year apart and are 23-24 now. Racism is definitely on both sides in this country because I've seen it for over 2 decades with my daughters. No matter what, I'd never change anything because God loves them girls and this I know.

    It's sad that people can't just be people. I have a nephew. I taught in a "community" school. He would come to my classroom in the morning before he went to his class. He was a cute little guy period, but very pale (with curly hair) because he was mixed. Two 7th grade female students came to my class early. I stepped out of the room for a minute. They had been teasing him. He told them off. He'd been taught to stand up for himself. I think he cussed them out🤣🤣. One of them pushed him and he hit his head on the radiator. He had a huge goose egg on his head. All his life he dealt with bullying. He was very kind and sensitive. People can't help what they look like. They also get tired of our useless opinions and bullying. Our folks can be as cruel to one another as anyone else. Especially when you're different "period". If it's dirty laundry, we need to clean that crap up 😤. Where are the community summits and forums for educating people on: family, racial equity, economics, and self determination? Till we can do better, let's not worry about "The Others" so much (esp. With all these missing HOH's).

    As a Black Man I feel this conversation on light skinned to dark skinned is a good one.Also as a Black Man, I have a slight problem when white people, especially culture vultures like Vlad discuss it. I don’t feel it’s his or their business. He’s Jewish. Let’s discuss differences in the Jewish community to us. I bet he doesn’t want that conversation.

    “Everyone wants to be black except us,” that is real. My own biracial mother and I have had some tough conversations about race since day one, including some hurtful comments on how my child’s skin color will effect our relationship as she grows up. Needless to say that no longer talk, not due solely to racial issues but it definitely plays its part within multiple race families.
