  • This route has always been a goal to film ever since I watched the Dirty Jobs pilot episode with Mike Rowe. A lot has changed since that episode was filmed; the sack isn’t used any more, no more unlimited collection, and everything is carted collection. But the route was the most difficult one to film ever.
    Thanks to the garbage crew for letting us film and sharing some knowledge with us about the history of this route.

    Great job guys! These routes have always been so entertaining to watch over the years from those who have been lucky enough to capture them. Like that one guys channel years back that caught the route when it was unlimited trash and a bunch of people just tossing boxes into the truck. Still a pretty dirty route though obviously. Thank you for the footage.

    Wow thanks for getting this!!! I can't imagine what went through their minds when 3 guys walked up to them at 12am and asked if they could record lol but that was great they were so cool with it! I'm amazed how quiet the trucks are, guess the residents can't complain about noise now

    Nice, I like seeing them in the dark. I watched that dirty jobs episode too and things have changed. Everything is carted and no longer uses sack. When I went to Chinatown in 2016 they still used the sack deal and I only saw green carts out. Recology has done a lot to keep sf area clean, btw did you catch the recycling truck? I wished they sent the split out.

    • @gotpcfix

    Why is there that trash can on the back at all times

    • @cagarbagetrucks
      @cagarbagetrucks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This route does have some stops where the smaller carts are considered "drive up" service, so the carts are located in the building itself, so they dump those carts into the bigger cart, then dump that cart into the rear loader.

    • @theghtrashman1978

    • @gotpcfix
      @gotpcfix 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@theghtrashman1978 I’m one of the guys from the video. We use the can mainly to swap with the same size under garbage chutes so we don’t have to make multiple trips into buildings. It takes a couple weeks per route to get down the inside accounts. There is overlap for different commodities so it helps.
