@@cheryloakley245 when you listen to all the albums in the discography as they were released, its hugely evident how much the group grew in their active 10 years. Lyrically, musically and vocally everything just got stronger and stronger.
Glad you liked "Andante andante". When I hear the first notes, everything just stops. It has such a beautiful flow and Frida is just brilliant (especially with that long, sustained note at the end). As for other artists being fantastic live, I would suggest Muse.
Such a great album. This and The Visitors have a very distinct sound from the 80s which makes me think other artists picked up on it and made that 80s classic sound we all know and recognize. I believe wholeheartedly that if ABBA hadn’t split up they would’ve become the biggest band in the world in that decade, without a doubt.
No doubt ABBA’s production values influenced everything that came after them, much like The Beatles did. But the sound of the 80s had more to do with a revolution in new recording technology and affordable synthesisers. It was the advent of the new digital world we now live in. ABBA were early adopters, building one of the world’s first all-digital recording studios in Stockholm, but it would have happened anyway. (And I say this as a huge ABBA fan). I too would have liked to see what they would have done with the new paradigm of the 80s. I think the hit single from Bjorn and Benny's musical Chess, One Night In Bangkok, is an indication of what a 1983 ABBA album would have sounded like. But inter-personal frictions aside, I think we sometimes forget they were in their mid-thirties by then and perhaps not as hungry anymore for world domination in the field of pop. I think they probably perfected their unique brand of pop on The Visitors, proving their viability in the new decade. Certainly if you throw in the preceding album. If you look at those two as an 80s double album, it would be up there with the all-time classics, certainly the best double album of the 80s. Also, they were dropping off in terms of sales and popularity, as every decade starts off with throwing out the old. Add the post-divorce atmosphere and its understandable they called it quits.
SUPER TROUPER album pictures and outshines Abba's progressed "honeyfied maturity" at that time. Also includes songs that behind their disguised innocent, cheerful mood hide cryptical messages.E.g.Behind the "school-choral vocals" of "The Piper" noone would suspect that it's an ironic, critical song on fascist leaders that manipulate unsuspicious crowds, violating their rightful freedom.."Me and I" is about a split personality, while the wonderful "Andante" as a fellow fan wrote, describes a couples love action in a very beautiful and refined poetic way without getting hideous.FABBA ABBA!.A splendid sophisticated body of work and one of my standard top 3 most fave albums by them.
"The Way Old Friends Do"...Chills!!!After so many years of my listening to this sacred(and more relevant now than ever) anthem to friendship and forgiveness, i still get goosebumps each time i get to this.Wish they do this live in "flesh n blood" on the finale of the long awaited VOYAGE premier in May '22.Rumour has it they will all 4 be there. They're welcomed for a last goodbeye.
ABBAs songs are full of catchy and happy melodies; you get in such a good mood when you listen to ABBA. Their music pick you up when you are down or in a depression. Make you want to dance and celebrate being alive. The music is effortless, and yet so complex in all their different layers. In my opinion, Benny Andersson is one of the very best composers of our time. When you really and fully understand the text of ABBA songs, you will be amazed of the depth in the lyrics and the phenomenal insights in the challenges of being human. This ability allows us to easily identify with the lyrics. I do not know of any other group that can captivate me and enchant me like ABBA. Their music and lyrics are magical. Neither do I know of any other group that can evoke as many different and genuine emotions and feelings in me as ABBA do. This is a rare talent that ABBA have in abundance. I go as far as to say that this talent makes their music and lyrics a real healing on a very deep, unconscious level. So, in these very turbulent, chaotic and uncertain times, ABBA has a HUGE mission. Love from Lena
Oh! What a incredibly reaction to "The Way Old Friends Do"!!! Super Trouper is a superb album, so I'm glad you like it so much... And now I´m waiting for The Visitors!!! Love your channel, Blizz!!!
I was binge watching your videos last night, especially the ABBA ones. You really do a wonderful job. You seem to have a deep understanding for their music and don't over-analyze. Thank you very much and greetings from the other side of the world, Germany.
Great reaction and review. Incredible how many top quality songs they fit onto one album. ABBA are unique and you could never repeat what they had, it was a magical chemistry, a type of metaphysical alchemy that turned everything they touched into ABBA gold..
The Piper is one of my favourities, cause not only traditional even Celtic/Irish sound, but also those dramatic organs in 3.verse. Like You mentioned proves even this experiment they turn and 'polished' it to their style, which is simply pure gold! The Way old friends give even national anthem-vibe, could almost be Sweden's. :)
I love Me and I! The Piper is one of those songs that doesn’t hit you at first and then becomes absolutely fantastic- definitely worth a second listen.
"On and On and On" for me, it's more an early new wave song à la Devo and others of the time, with heavy vocal distortions and synthesizers. I personally prefer the Live version that sounds more like early rock and roll. "Me and I" also relies heavily on synthesizers but sounds fine for me.
Sounds like a "synth-coated" '50s rock 'n roll with some Beach Boys vocal vibes. It is said that it was Benny's tribute to his fave band.I prefer the rare extended version with the uncut extra verse before it's outro also featured on the official video.
@@christianoazzuro6711 yes it’s totally a modern take on early rock. It’s interesting how differently people are interpreting the song. I’m hearing the song in different ways because people are pointing out things I never heard or thought of in regards to it before

Super Trouper has to be one of my favorite albums. I feel like they're more mature and you can tell it's a bit darker than their other albums, then after that comes the even darker The Visitors which is another favorite. The production is also amazing especially and basically every song is a different genre but also I just love that so many songs has Frida as lead because I feel like she hasn't had her time to shine yet before this. My favorite songs must be Lay All Your Love On Me because I mean music doesn't get better than that, Me and I because it's so relatable and so catchy and just fantastic and it's so underrated, and The Piper which I understand isn't for everyone but I just love how mysterious it is and the traditional sound and it's in my opinion their most underrated song. But all songs are amazing, I could write about all of them but no one wants to read that lol.
"Super Trouper" the album someone said sounds like regret, the sound of things coming to an end, which I agree, but I don't think it's as bleak as "The Visitors". There are also 2 bonus tracks, "Elaine" and "Put On Your White Sombrero" that I also like.
Can't wait to see your reaction to some of the most amazing, underrated ABBA songs: 'The Piper', 'The Way Old Friends Do', 'Lay All Your Love On Me', and 'Our Last Summer'. Also, the 'Super Trouper' album version of 'TWOFD' here is miles better than the 'Live At Wembley Arena' version. The message in that song is really beautiful and probably relatable to every person all over the world. The track might as well have been called 'Hymn For Humanity' because of its important message, emotional melody, and profound delivery by the singers.

This album contains three of my all time favourite ABBA songs: "HAppy new year", "Our last summer" and "The way old frieds do". All three are none of their big hits but I love the melancholy
Probably my favourite ABBA original album and I really think every track was worthy of single release at the time. The obvious hits are of course The Winner Takes It All and Super Trouper, but other were released in different countries. On And On And On, Happy New Year, Lay All Your Love On Me and Andante Andante (in its spanish language version). Two other tracks recorded at the time but left off the album, Put On Your White Sombrero and Elaine are equally as strong. I think Super Trouper had more advanced orders that any other in the UK. where the early albums were more experimental and most tracks were obvious genres, by this time you new every song was ABBA yet with their own style and sound established now, the genres were still there but, they were primarily sounding like ABBA, not reggae, funk, glamrock or pure pop.

I don’t think The Visitors was released in Russia, but it was never banned because of the title track. This is because Björn never revealed what the song was about until well into the 90s when the USSR was already a thing of the past. It was ABBA’s appearance on ‘Let Poland be Poland’ in 1981 that probably didn’t please Russia.
I appreciate that man! I have been pretty busy lately with work but when I find the free time, I will get back on the reaction train! Thanks for the comment :)
I wish you will give Roxette a listen. After Abba they are Sweden's biggest band. So many awesome songs. Have a nice day is my absolute fave album. But Look sharp would be a great album to start seeing that it was their big breakout album with 2 US nr 1's and nr 2 from 4 singles released 👌❤️
'The Piper' is a deceptive track, as you say, it sounds traditional, but the lyrics warn of the danger when many follow a charismatic leader down the wrong path. The tune is unthreatening but the lyrics are not.
Yeah true,Abba have done such "tricky" stuff in the past.e.g "The Name of the Game".Undeneath it's velvet beat and vocals it deals with issue of agoraphobia and also a girls' insecurity to open up to a love affair. And of course what can be said about "The Visitors".That's the hardest one.Guess many of us will have to talk a lot about it when he'll review that album.
@@blizzardz9797 It's so satisfying to watch young people like you enjoying ABBA, it really is. This group brings generations together, that's wonderful.
For me Abba Super trooper was the beginning of the decline from top charts and to uninteresting tunes .There are maybe max 3 good song -rest are just craftmanship - well done but" i wont listen" - I was 18 when the album came out . New wave had overtaken them like Ultravox and such

I think that the album
"Super Trouper" (1980)
is 7,5 pts/10,
only behind
"The Album" & "Arrival" (8pts)
and at the same level with
"ABBA" & "Voyage"
two singles stand out, both #1 in UK:
the masterpiece heartbroken
"The winner takes it all" (10pts)
and last ABBA Top 10 in US
and the musical beauty
"Super Trouper" (9pts)
#1 when John Lennon was murder
other wonders
"Happy new year" &
"The way all friends do"
and the surprise
"The Piper"
(these last three 8pts)
About the rest
7 pts:
"On and one and on"
"Our last summer"
"Lay all your love on me"
6 pts:
"Andante andante"
5 pts:
"Me and I"
I hope to see you in the next
it will be "The Visitors" (1981)
but, please, don't forgive to react the earliest ABBA albums , specialy the homonymous "ABBA" (1975)
GOD bless you and stay safe
My best regards from
Buenos Aires (Argentina)

This is because Björn never revealed what the song was about until well into the 90s when the USSR was already a thing of the past. It was ABBA’s appearance on ‘Let Poland be Poland’ in 1981 that probably didn’t please Russia.
Love all your videos man x
I appreciate that man! I have been pretty busy lately with work but when I find the free time, I will get back on the reaction train! Thanks for the comment :)
I wish you will give Roxette a listen. After Abba they are Sweden's biggest band. So many awesome songs. Have a nice day is my absolute fave album. But Look sharp would be a great album to start seeing that it was their big breakout album with 2 US nr 1's and nr 2 from 4 singles released 👌❤️
Abba's 4 albums could alternately be called Abba's greatest Hits Volume 1-4
Nice reaction!

Hey, Blizzardz, would you mind reacting to another lesser known song from ABBA named "Dream World"? Thank you!
The Visitors is the masterpiece.
I'm happy you're fine again :-) May I ask you how old you are?
I am 22 years 👍 thanks for watching and enjoying the video!
@@blizzardz9797 It's so satisfying to watch young people like you enjoying ABBA, it really is. This group brings generations together, that's wonderful.
@@blizzardz9797 What a fine age!Even though you do look younger ,do enjoy your youth cause this stream never comes back.Lucky you.
Mercury act 2
👍❤🇸🇪
you from IRL?
What's the name of the song you sing in the beginning?
Oh the song I am vibin to? That's "Indian Outlaw" by Tim McGraw.
Pls react to the visitor album
Sub luna saltamus!
Last album is Visitors!!!!!!! No Super Truper!!!!
PECE NO WOR....PUTIN... ABBA... FREDOME NOW....
For me Abba Super trooper was the beginning of the decline from top charts and to uninteresting tunes .There are maybe max 3 good song -rest are just craftmanship - well done but" i wont listen" - I was 18 when the album came out . New wave had overtaken them like Ultravox and such
th-cam.com/video/imIW41AmclY/w-d-xo.html -Ultavox were bigger among youth than the record for parents ABBA did
do you have an instagram or anything?
