I don't really think Apple invented the Apple watch as a replacement for their phone, however with how things are going, I kinda hope they did. I've been a long term apple user, owning just about everything apple sells in almost every generation. The one clear trend I see is that the silicon is getting better, and the apps ecosystem getting WAY too crowded.
Let me know if you think this way to set up the watch is too much hustle. I enjoyed it VERY MUCH but I also understand maybe most people bought into the watch just because of its aesthetics. I'm curious which one you are :)
Also... what you think about the Viture the MR glasses. And should I do more give away like this? Anyways, I thank you for stopping by and have yourself a great day :D

Excellent review of Watch Ultra 2. I have been thinking about getting one instead of buying newest iPhone.

My daughter got me the watch, the SE. I use it mostly for the fitness aspect atm, but I've tried wearing it to bed as well and I get all my current reminders during the day. I find its a bit addicting to have all the info and miss it when I decide to wear a normal watch. I find I miss my normal watches after a bit. Been wanting to try the glasses since googles pair came out, never had the chance.

First of all I just want to say WOW !!
I've been an Apple Watch User ever since the Apple Watch 2. I bought a 4 and am now still wearing my Apple Watch 6 but planning to upgrade soon to the 10. I've used it a LOT throughout all these years but actually never knew that you could set specific watch faces to specific focus modes. The way you've optimized your devices to match your life, specifically having apps at the ready for each step of the way is mind blowing to me and I absolutely will start to use this as well.
So I mainly want to say Thank You for this video as it reignited my passion for my Apple Watch and I cannot wait to experience the next couple of months once I set it up like this. I might just even think about buying an Ultra 2 instead of a 10 just for the Action button, but for the time being I will be using the action button on my iPhone for that.
As for the contest: the XR Glasses almost seem to good to be true to be honest, but if they even work half as good as you make it sound then I would use them to watch movies during my daily commute to work. But also to do many other things optimizing my way of working from my home office, try some iOS Gaming and experience it like never before, read notifications and other things when walking with the dogs (in a safe environment ofcourse) or check out Augmented Reality apps (this seems really cool).
Again depending on the image quality, sturdiness of the glasses and battery life they might be worth the $399 you mentioned or even more. But the WAF is extremely high on this one (Wife Acceptance Factor) so if I don't win this contest it will probably never actually end up in my home 😛

Hi KevZ! This is my first KevZ video. Thank you! I was an early adopter of the Apple Watch, buying the first one. The Ultra 1 is my fourth Apple Watch. When I bought my first Apple Watch, I didn't wear glasses, and the size of the native Apple Watch workout numbers was fine. But now I wear glasses and those numbers are too small if I'm working out without wearing my glasses. I switched to the WorkOutdoors app. Besides the larger numbers, the app is phenomenal! I use four watch faces every day: one for sleeping, one for work, one for after work, and one for the evenings before bed. The Snoopy watch face is my evening before-bed watch face! Anyway, thanks for your ideas and comments on creative ways to use my Apple Watch!

Shortcuts are way more useful and the way they are configured will make your day more productive and easier without taking your phone out. These focus modes with little customisation made my whole apple ecosystem more productive.

I have the first edition and have yet to optimize it, but your recommendations definitely helps. The Viture Pro XR glasses are insanely cool. I travel quite alot and have to work out of coffee shops and planes on a regular basis so these would be amazing to get some work done compare to the small screen I have now. For $459 it's a steal. Other VR headsets are on par with the price, but doesn't come close in the portability that these seem to have. Thanks again for a great video. Definitely subscribing!

You helped me out in the comment section of your previous video about focus modes. I still use this, albeit slightly modified.
However this Apple Watch loop trick with the focus button is awesome.
I am thinking of adding location based logic. It looks like yours is just a basic nested if which loops through the focus modes, meaning if your day is slightly different from the normal flow, the simple loop logic may not work perfectly.
Nothing is perfect I get it, but it may make it even better.
Keep it up and well done with the 10k subs!

    • @kevzwang

@@JDDD87 Hi yes it works completely on its own without your phone. One caveat is that you do pay extra for it, for example the cellular plan with your telecom provider is typically 15 USD / month (depends on where you live), also the WhatsApp watch app cost 10 USD one time charge... Overall it's worth it imo, but just keep in mind it's extra cash for the added convenience

Excellent video; very well made and informative. Love my Apple Watch 5 Series unfortunately the battery's life is very much diminished so I am going to have to get me a new Ultra 2 Titanium Black 😅 Merry Christmas you all!

Do you have a watch protector on your Ultra? I have the black matte and on day two I already see a slight scuff on the top.

Short answer is no... and I have the same model. I would try to rub it off to see if the damage is permanent.
I find the screen itself to be extremely hard and scratch resistant, better than the normal iPhone screen, I've seen people doing lab hardness test on it and it's pretty much gem stone grade hardness. The metal shell (Titanium alloy) can be scratched if you put it up against some really hard material but that doesn't happen too often either. There are a couple of instances when I thought it has a scratch mark, but it turns out to be from residue material like wood or stone, which in my experience wouldn't leave a permanent mark

Can I do this On a series 10

You can but not with the physical button, which series 10 doesn't have. You have have the focus swap button on the watch face though. Haven't tried it myself but technically it works.

this has brought my apple watch to a whole new level in terms of productivity. Just read Atomic Habits and it was game changer. That led me to this. I hope to be more productive using your video! Keep up the good work!
