I played a cab driver in a Jessica Chastain movie. My scene was a total of 8 seconds on screen, picking up the main character in front of a house and dropping her at the airport. It took two days and 14 hours.
@@maxbrazil3712 wow o.0 for a 8 second segment... guess it goes to show you how much time effort and work actualy goes into every scene potentially! thanks for sharing thats cool to know
Another tremendous scene from the best show on TV right now. The song pays homage to great disco anthems of the 70's, with the master-Nile Rodgers collaborating with DJ Cassidy and Greg Cohen and strong vocals from Alex Newell. The scene is shot perfectly and resonates to anyone who has ever got behind turntables and made a crowd react.
> The scene is shot perfectly and *resonates to anyone who has ever got behind turntables and made a crowd react.* Fuck you, that sentence alone has now made me wanna get back into mixing! :( I've only felt it (live/raves that is) from the other side of the table dropping some serious movements on the danceflo' and throwing some next-level shapes ain't no cunt seen before. On a geometric gurning it up ting.
Yes mate, that;s what I want to hear. Latin Disco, Soul and Rock n Roll blew my mind as a kid and still does. Spanish language Hip-Hop is my gold medal favourite. Big up's from the UK Crew. The North remembers.
I remember me and the wife watching this episode as it aired and we got really into this scene and almost started dancing ourselves. both songs in this video are bomb tracks.
One of the best scenes of the first season (along with DJ Kool Herc doing his marry-go-round). I love the DJ's expressions in this scene. He looks such a nice guy :)
Too many people were waiting for the auto tune to kick in and for 10-15 different producers and songwriters to come into the studio to help the artists with their songs.
@@maxbrazil3712 I think that's what the show should have focused on. Outside of Jamie and Clarke, we don't see the other people in AR work on getting new artists. A lot of what was going on with Richie looked like Seasons worth of Material in one box.
HBO was brain dead for giving this up. In todays social climate they really could have had some interesting story lines regarding the disco and house music.
Tense as hell. Clarke didn't discover Disco but he did realise the power of new dance music, meaning Disco at the time. Record labels of the time had to find a way to sell records to a new dance crazy generation is all.
For some reason when I was first watching this I too was like “what the fuck is this? Put the funk back on!” But then the chorus for kill the lights drops and it’s brilliant
@@careymagic Watched Vinyl again for the 4th time. Love the Wild Safari scene. You can just feel the heat. I do love this scene too...the transition from funk to disco. So cool.

Well its kind of ridiculous and fake that's why...sort of like Marty Mcfly "inventing" Rock and Roll. At least that was comedic...in this...they literally say...Clark introduces Disco...No Clark fucking didn't. In fact it was guys like Clark who had Disco Demolition Night who killed it in the First place.
Well the first disco DJ of note in New York City was an Italian American (Francis Grasso). I believe that’s him in the movie Klute being the DJ in the club scenes and those scenes were shot in a pretty famous disco of that era. During the time period of the show the top disco clubs were mostly gay so if their is a historical problem with the scene it is not with the racial aspect but the sexuality aspect. It was the gay disco’s that produced the underground hits. Love the scene, show could have been great if the lead character hadn’t been so loathsome and hard to root for. Excellent soundtrack!
Smoking indoors in a crowded club with a bunch of unironically dressed people. Oh, I miss those days. Great scene, too bad the series didn't last. They should have given it one more season.
Can't believe this show got cancelled, loved it.
It's a shitshow with a lot of untrue stuff.
yea, very crazy. one of the best series I never seen
Really interesting little story ark they got here. Sad the show isn't very popular, but it recreates the atmosphere VERY well.
Seriously, sad it wasn't popular enough to get a second season. I'm a big fan of the show. I'm not even from that generation, I was born in 94
Is it on Netflix or Hulu?
I honestly never heard of it..
HBO
I was there when this was filmed! Surprisingly it took almost 17 hours.
what took soo long out of curiousity? and was it a blast? it looked great!

I am here because i heard the song when it was first played (in the episode 8 of the serie Vinyl back in 2016)!! and still listening in 2020

I would have loved to see Indigo be a Sylvester type character in season 2. And of course the Nasty Bits take off with Punk New Wave
In my next lifetime I want to comeback and live in New York during the disco era
It was those few people who actually started dancing who really started disco.
