I definitely agree that there's so much more to take in and appreciate when viewing photos as part a video on TH-cam as opposed to Instagram. Seeing where it was taken, how it was composed, little comments on the film used and reflections on what worked or didn't work, larger image and more. Looking forward to the next video :) Cheers from Ottawa.
My first time in Vermont was in October 1998, My God what an amazing trip that was!. The leaves were bursting with color I thought i was in a movie lol.
IMHO those are great images. I'm just getting into photography, so it was nice seeing such great results from Kodak Gold 200, which I just grabbed a 3 pack of (35mm...LOL), and cost half of Portra. Oh yeah, sweet van :)
Enjoyed this video :) Love the road tripping and surfing etc along the way! I too enjoy Paddleboarding and surfing along with shooting on film. Good stuff, Kam!
I just found your channel through starting my own photography journey and I really appreciate the calm tone of your videos. Thanks for sharing and keep up the amazing work.
I enjoyed this! Just found your channel, and I've definitely subscribed. Great work, and I think you're right about the work getting a little more attention here than on IG.
Just a tip since I saw in your previous video you like the color science - if you edit in Lightroom Classic, you can shoot Raw with the X100V, and apply the camera color profiles to RAW images. Nice way to get the best of both worlds!
Really enjoyed this one and I hope you continue to make these videos! Ive never even shot on film but ive been shooting digital for about 5 years and I have been more inspired by film than anything these past few years. I am curious how do you find locations to shoot while on a roadtrip?
Hey Austin, thanks so much! I highly encourage you to try film, it definitely made me a better photographer! As for finding location, I usually just drive/walk around a neighborhood or a place until I find something interesting. I don't plan too much :)
Vlog seems to require much more creative input then instagram. You have to do more producing, writing, planning shots, editing, different takes on and off camera and being comfortable with describing verbally/visually either as a narrator or on camera. I hope the more creative input you give that you get the same or more out of making the vlogs. Love your video tempo and aesthetics. Love your photos most of all. The medium format colors are amazing - very vibrant but with soft edges.
Hi Kam. Mind the traffic. (2:46) Stepping backwards could have been very dangerous. As photographers we have always to take care where we position ourselves while we are looking through the viewfinder. This big car turned right behind you. A lot had happened to careless photographers. 🚑
I use the medium format when I want more details and dynamic range in my shots. I also use it when I want to force myself to slow down and think about my composition. I use 35mm when I'm on the go and have less time!
I was on insta for a long while but logged out a couple of years ago, I was over getting up at stupid o'clock to get the subject in the best light busting a gut to get it edited and posted asap for only a handful of views then seeing some buggers egg, chips and cola getting thousands of likes n follows. I'll stick with youtube even though the views are pitiful. In the end for me it comes down to enjoyment I actually enjoy posting on here rather than insta. Great video, I love shooting film and medium format but hells bells it's getting expensive. Liked and subbed

worrywart
I think your gas bill for your westfalia is even higher than you film bill. Inflation blues.
Nice shots by the way. 📷
Hahaha it is! Thank you :)
Nice artist hat
your awesome beautiful spirit
What was the point of using 645 and 35? Apples and pears?
I use the medium format when I want more details and dynamic range in my shots. I also use it when I want to force myself to slow down and think about my composition. I use 35mm when I'm on the go and have less time!
Do you edit your shots in Lightroom?
Always! I will make a video about my process one day :)
