    Install roll holders etc by screwing to a stud or dwang (horizontal.)

    It's worth mentioning that the 'screw in anchor ' should be used with the appropriate length size screw. They will split and grip behind the wall, thus working similar to a toggle bolt.
    It doesn't look as neat behind the wall as a toggle bolt but it works if you don't have the tools for pre-drilling.
    I've used screw-in anchors for years, hanging mirrors, paintings and other decorative items without any issues.

    Hello Daru , I definitely love that style of anchor , Unfortunately all manufacturers of products that are mounted give you the wrong anchors and just recently I installed a grab bar in my older brother's shower and they had these plastic plugs for anchors and the manufacturer expects these to hold a grab bar ? What a joke , What I did was use a stud finder and a plum bob to mark the location of the stud and using hefty screws , mounted the grab bar so the screws go right into the stud , These manufacturers are wasting their money on the wrong anchors they furnish with their products , They should either furnish the right anchors or not furnish them at all but put in their installation instructions what anchors to use , I definitely love the snap toggle anchor because of it's amazing holding power
    They'll definitely come in handy because my niece may want me to install a large mirror in her bedroom and it's a framed mirror just like a picture and chances are that the mounting brackets or rings won't be positioned on the mirror in such a way to line up with the studs in the wall , So these anchors will be perfect for installing a large mirror , The grab bar that I installed at my brother's house ,
    Now these anchors would do the job because of their holding power if I couldn't find the studs
    When it comes down to brass tacks
    There is nothing like having the right materials and the right tools to do the job , My Mom used to call me a packrat because when I got gift cards for The Home Depot for Christmas , She'd ask , Another tool ? And I would say You just can't beat having the right tools and materials for the job , Not only do they make the job much easier
    They play a huge role in doing the job right the first time , One thing for sure is even though we've gone to school and graduated , We never stop learning and thanks to you , Now I learned about which is the best drywall anchor to use , Thank you so much for your tips on drywall anchors

    Hi, thanks for the video some useful information. I want to mention that on the 1st. toggle you didn't mention that you have to put the screw(s) into/through whatever mounting plate that sits on the wall first. If you don't, when you unscrew the bolt/screw the grabber bar inside the wall will just fall off.

And, I do mean to "negate" the prior statement, but, I've watched so many videos by men about how to mount various items, and most of them do not indicate what type of anchor to use. While I've been a big fan of pop toggles, my house has different thicknesses of drywall in different places, so I never know which depth pop toggle i'll need. I agree with away from the wall dispensing. Some people disagree and I think it's lame because if it's dispensing away from the wall you can easily see it for the next grab. When it dispenses towards the wall you may have to search for it or rotate it around to find the next piece. I find that to be very annoying. When I visit the homes of other folks they may insist on having against the wall. Away from the wall is more logical.

    How do you know where the pipes are so you don't drill into them?
    Also, it is secure on the wall but I have to keep tightening that tiny screw to keep it tight and it has stripped. Nobody sells them. I'd hate to have to do a whole project because of this tiny screw!

    • @DaruDhillon
      @DaruDhillon  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are unsure about where your pipes are place a piece of tape on your drill bit at 1/2”. That way when you drill through your wall you only go the depth of your drywall. You can insert something small into the hole to feel what’s behind it. It’s often easiest to install a new holder than finding a new tiny screw. The one in the video is affordable and well made.

      When using the snap toggle you have to use the long machine screws that come with the snap toggle. The two long screws will attach the mounting bracket. If your holder doesn’t have a mounting plate and only small screws I would swap out the screws for bigger ones. Or use an anchor that is sized for your specific screw. To patch the holes fill with spackle, light sand and paint.
