Molly, great reaction. Power and control -- exactly. AJ's vocal fry is just so controlled and on pitch. I mean, who pitches vocal fry? And then add the breathiness as contrast to the fry, and it's over the top control. And then the weird thing is, all the emotion gets added as well. She holds the emotion back, then releases it in fry and breathiness. It's just astonishing how she commands her voice. She just controls my reaction to her performance in a way that I've never heard before. This is her genius.

Beautiful reaction Molly, you're right, for many of us listening to Angelina sing is like a recomposition therapy, her voice has almost a soothing and reassuring effect, she is truly magical in managing the emotions she manages to pour into her voice. I love the ability that Angelina had to immerse herself in the soul of the song, with her usual naturalness and I appreciated her unique and fascinating way of giving it to us. As I loved the way she wanted to reassure us about her grandmother's health, she did it with infinite delicacy and sweetness, their heads side by side almost counterbalancing the detachment that Adele writes about in the song. I am not very good at judging musical abilities so I cannot compare Adele and Angelina I think they are both great but I can say that Angelina knows much better how to pull heartstrings. She knew it from the beginning even when she was 7 people said to her that she made them cry.
Nice reaction. Power seems to be a key difference in this cover. Adele's performance is very restrained and certainly lovely nonetheless. But Angelina's greater dynamic range along with her rarely used head voice make this an impactful performance indeed.
I agree with all that you said. Also, I haven't been following her from the beginning, but since she was just about 9. Still, when I watch a true reaction video, that isn't filled with pauses and a bunch of talk during the song, I get a sense of pride, just as I would if my own daughters did something that brought joy to others, when I see the smiles on the reactors faces. I know that she has done several Adele songs, although I can't name those songs off the top of my head. What I recall is that she is an "Adele killer" with her covers of Adele. Pick any of those covers, and I think you'll be repeating those words, "I like Angelina's cover better." But, its not just limited to Adele. She does that with many artists. ... Glad that the performance picked up your spirits.

It’s not just you Molly, I feel you are 100% correct, Adele is a fantastic artist, but I have to say that Angelina‘s performance is on another level. There are many very talented artists in the world, but there is usually always someone more gifted. In Angelina‘s case she is one of those artists that come along once every 100 or 200 years, The universe aligned together in just the right way with Angelina, she is a child prodigy and her upbringing and her genetics have given her a rare combination of talents. She not only speaks several languages but she is also an excellent artist like her grandmother and plays several instruments and seems to be very empathic, she also seems to have a very quick memory and strong focus. She put out her first version of this song on TickTock before she did the studio version just hours after Adele‘s release, which is incredibly amazing, and at 15 years old, just mind blowing. She immediately related with this song as to her own experiences and choices in her life and trials she has been going through as she expressed in an earlier song called “ Seventh Heaven, Seventh Heaven on her shoulders falls heavy.” Then she had the scare with her grandmother in the hospital. You can see the deep attachment at the beginning of this video with her grandmother, which is her mentor and backbone to a large degree, she seems to be with her everywhere.

A common thing to hear from her fans and even reactors like yourself, who have been following and reacting to her for a while, is that they feel proud, somewhat like what a parent would feel. I think this is what happens to people, because she comes across as so pure and sincere, and a really great girl in SO many ways, that it kinda triggers our parential instincts. I am also one of those who feel incedibly proud of her, and not just because we are both Norwegian. And you ARE allowed to say hat you prefer her cover over Adele's original. Adele writes fantastic songs that rightfully and deservingly become commercial successes. Of course, Adele sings them very well. However, when Angelina covers them she turns them into brilliantly polished master works.

I think why this version feels better is that AJ brings a bit more low tones, warmth, breathiness, and a soul with her rasps, which gives a more intimate feeling, like she was gently whispering your the ear that gives these goes bumps.

But to declare that Angelina is an artist while Adele is just a vocalist comes across as both absurd (Adele is one of the great vocalists and songwriters of our time and is most certainly an artist) and disrespectful to the *artist* who created the song that Angelina is singing here. I believe Angelina has the talent to reach Adele’s status or beyond some day. I also believe it’s possible to think that without diminishing Adele or denying her artistry. I know what you are saying is coming from a good place but let’s try to choose our words carefully and show respect to the artists who create the songs she covers.

We all love Angelina and I know exactly what you mean about her ability to make us feel a song. I’ve written about it extensively here and on other platforms. I definitely prefer Angelina’s voice, but it doesn’t define what Adele can and cannot do as a vocal artist. We It’s not a zero sum game. We don’t have to subtract from Adele in order to appreciate Angelina’s immense talent.

Beautiful reaction Molly, you're right, for many of us listening to Angelina sing is like a recomposition therapy, her voice has almost a soothing and reassuring effect, she is truly magical in managing the emotions she manages to pour into her voice. I love the ability that Angelina had to immerse herself in the soul of the song, with her usual naturalness and I appreciated her unique and fascinating way of giving it to us. As I loved the way she wanted to reassure us about her grandmother's health, she did it with infinite delicacy and sweetness, their heads side by side almost counterbalancing the detachment that Adele writes about in the song. Look at her now, she has turn in a beautiful young lady with a velvet voice that brings comfort to the world! I am not very good at judging musical abilities so I cannot compare Adele and Angelina I think they are both great but I can say that Angelina knows much better how to pull heartstrings. She knew it from the beginning even when she was 7 people said to her that she made them cry.

Nice reaction. Power seems to be a key difference in this cover. Adele's performance is very restrained and certainly lovely nonetheless. But Angelina's greater dynamic range along with her rarely used head voice make this an impactful performance indeed.

I agree with all that you said. Also, I haven't been following her from the beginning, but since she was just about 9. Still, when I watch a true reaction video, that isn't filled with pauses and a bunch of talk during the song, I get a sense of pride, just as I would if my own daughters did something that brought joy to others, when I see the smiles on the reactors faces. I always get a smile when I see you have reacted to one of her songs. Good job, and I look forward to more of them.

I know that she has done several Adele songs, although I can't name those songs off the top of my head. What I recall is that she is an "Adele killer" with her covers of Adele. Pick any of those covers, and I think you'll be repeating those words, "I like Angelina's cover better." But, its not just limited to Adele. She does that with many artists. ... Glad that the performance picked up your spirits.

It’s not just you Molly, I feel you are 100% correct, Adele is a fantastic artist, but I have to say that Angelina‘s performance is on another level.
There are many very talented artists in the world, but there is usually always someone more gifted.
In Angelina‘s case she is one of those artists that come along once every 100 or 200 years, The universe aligned together in just the right way with Angelina, she is a child prodigy and her upbringing and her genetics have given her a rare combination of talents. She not only speaks several languages but she is also an excellent artist like her grandmother and plays several instruments and seems to be very empathic, she also seems to have a very quick memory and strong focus. She put out her first version of this song on TickTock before she did the studio version just hours after Adele‘s release, which is incredibly amazing, and at 15 years old, just mind blowing. She immediately related with this song as to her own experiences and choices in her life and trials she has been going through as she expressed in an earlier song called “ Seventh Heaven, Seventh Heaven on her shoulders falls heavy.” Then she had the scare with her grandmother in the hospital. You can see the deep attachment at the beginning of this video with her grandmother, which is her mentor and backbone to a large degree, she seems to be with her everywhere.

I am one of those who has been following her since she was 7, and it has been an amazing ride this far, for sure. And the journey will continue.
A common thing to hear from her fans and even reactors like yourself, who have been following and reacting to her for a while, is that they feel proud, somewhat like what a parent would feel. I think this is what happens to people, because she comes across as so pure and sincere, and a really great girl in SO many ways, that it kinda triggers our parential instincts. I am also one of those who feel incedibly proud of her, and not just because we are both Norwegian.
And you ARE allowed to say hat you prefer her cover over Adele's original. That has got nothing to do with disrespecting the original in any way. It's all down to personal taste, and we are, luckily enough, STILL allowed to be individuals in that regard. And even though we have different tastes, there is nothing in this world that unites people more and on a relatively deep level, than music. Funny how that works.

Adele writes fantastic songs that rightfully and deservingly become commercial successes. Of course, Adele sings them very well. However, when Angelina covers them she turns them into brilliantly polished master works.
Wonderful reaction....in the beginning you saw Angelina and Grandma. Grandma , just a few weeks ago, home from cancer surgery. They are very close together as Grandma got her into jazz, and did over 95% of her home videos, and recordings. A very close family.......

It's the way she brings out a persons feelings and emotions when she sings. I like many people either cry or come close to crying whenever I hear her sing. I think why this version feels better is that AJ brings a bit more low tones, warmth, breathiness, and a soul with her rasps, which gives a more intimate feeling, like she was gently whispering your the ear that gives these goes bumps.
