I don't have an updated video for 2024, but I have updated my blog post with the sandals that are still available or similar versions for the ones that sold out. You can see them all here: theabundanttraveler.com/the-best-travel-sandals/ Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your recommendations. However, I would have loved hearing more details ie, do you need to wear some in, do they make your feet sweat, etc. The Tevas rubbed on my heels and I could not walk in them for more than a few minutes. I also found Ecco’s to be hot on my footbed. Did you experience any of those issues?
I just recently came across this video. Super helpful. I'm going to be in Portland next month and need some walking sandals. PS - your Portland video was really informative, too.
Charleston Shoe Company. Amazingly comfortable and cute as a button! My fav styles are the “Cannon” and the “Atlantic”. And…they are washable in the machine!!
As far as the Birkenstocks cracking you need to apply cork sealant every so often to keep them glued together. Also a cobbler and re sole the bottoms when they wear down. Definitely worth it because alot of times they discontinue styles, at least you can keep getting them rebuilt.
Thanks for your video content, from this brand-new subscriber. . I appreciate recommendations for good quality travel shoes! May you have a blessed Easter! ❤
I'm in the market for something new so thank you for the reviews :) My personal all-time favorites were my Taos Trophy sandals, I've worn them for the last 8 or so years. I bought them in nude and in black. They have been workhorses & look great with pretty much everything & very, very comfortable. I also have a narrow foot, so these have worked for me.
Thanks for the great informative video. I do have a question tho. I’m looking for a sandal that is springy when you walk kind of like springs back if you know what I mean, do you have any sandals that you showed today that do that that are comfortable? I need that I’m 68 years old and my feet are starting to hurt, thanks for helping
Cute, Cute! I own the Clark's, same color and am taking them on my Italy trip in May. The cushy foot bed I hope will help on all the cobblestones. I also own the Skechers, but in black. The only trouble I have had with those is that the front strap has stretched out over time and sometimes my foot will slip out of it! Just FYI- Naturalizer makes a shoe that looks almost exactly like the Eileen Fisher- cost me about $75ish, can't remember, but they are very cute.
I’m off to Italy and Greece in late august/first 3 weeks of September and I’ve been looking at the crocs you mentioned. Would they be ok walking on cobblestone and up steps?
This was a great rundown, thanks! I have an extremely narrow foot and have worn Naot for years, but I'm looking for a pair of travel sandals that have more grip to the sole and that can get wet without being destroyed. It's so hard to find reviewers with narrow feet! Do you have any tips on which of the ones you reviewed might be the narrowest? I wear a small size too, around 36 or 36.5 Euro, and for reference, I find the Birkenstock "narrow" shoes to be too wide on me. Thoughts?
I’m late to the party since this is a year old. I’m wondering if you can say which of the shoes have stiffer soles. I can’t wear really flexible shoes. Also I have thin, narrow feet too!
Love that you wear the same size as me! So difficult to decide sometimes whether to size up or down when you are a 1/2 size and the company does not state the best way to go. I love my Vionics and I do love the Bob's too. Oofos are wonderful, not sure if you have tried. Great video!
I really like Tevis. Of course, I find my Birkenstocks more comfortable though. I have traveled with TVs for decades. Thanks for watching the video, and make sure to subscribe to the channel.
I ended up buying the Tevas, you were right the heel does feel like it is falling down, but isn't. Kind of use to it now. They are super comfy, thank you for the review of all the sandals. It was excellent to watch.
Can you do travel (for tourist walks) sandals that you can style with shorts/sun dresses? These style are great for outdoor activities/traveling but are more for casual, denim look styles. Love these choices though
This video is more about walking sandals then going out to dinner sandals. Maybe I should do another video for travel sandals that you can go out to dinner with. Thanks so much for watching comment subscribe to the channel.
It's too bad my feet are so small. I wear a 5 in sandals and I can wear a 3 in children's athletic shoes. People tell oh but you can get a ton of shoes on the cheap, but is actually not true. Many brands do not carry my size and start at 6 or 5.5 which are too big. Children's shoes are not supportive enough and I have high arches which is kind of a rare combination and my feet are not wide like I see other people with tiny feet, mine are nearly always smaller. I recently twisted my foot while wearing my reef sandals. Those at least have arch support, but I definitely need something more structured and protective. I literally felt like all the metatarsals squeezed together crushing the fleshy tissue between them. It bruised then my foot began to swell like a pumpkin. I've been icing it down all week. First 3 days I really couldn't put weight on it, just barely the heal of my foot. Now I can walk but not full stride yet. I'm in FL and we wear sandals all the time and I can even do so with my job, but since working has caused me to twist my foot, I realized I need much more structured, supportive, protective sandals and it is daunting for me with my size. If I like a sandal, most of the colors and patterns in my size are gone. Out of your entire list there's about 4 but 2 are outside my budget atm. The hunt is still on lol.
You have such beautiful shoes in the USA compared to here in Australia. We don’t have anywhere near the choice you have. Think I need a trip to the USA for shoe shopping 😂
You can take your Burks to an expired cobbler and they can replace the cork. Keep your souls. Or take bake to wear you purchased and they should offer the same for you if its any type of quantity store. It will probably cost you but Burks should last you a lifetime.
I think I will give those birks a try. I have the 2 strap version but they are a bit sloppy and I need something different for a lot of travel walking.
They're not for everyone, but I do like to recommend them for how lightweight they are to pack. And they don't have quite that chunky style as the classic Crocs do. What are your favorite sandals for travel?
Clarks are good quality shoes, It’s always taking the time to try and test. Birkenstocks give good support, I like their model Sydney which is less bulkier.

Cork sealant ? Where to purchase , how to apply / where ? TY
I was told when buying my last pair to use regular white school glue. You just rub it in with your finger until it turns translucent.
