I didn't expect we would see deck builders on this channel, but I'm glad it's not just collectible card games. Can't wait to see where the series goes next!
Im... kind of amazed that the concept of a deck building boardgame (ala Dominion), that is strictly not a TCG, has not crossed your paths yet. But I love the vid none the less. Oh! And i think the intention of the game is that a the cardbacks are the same, and thus should have identical sleeves. I could be wrong, though-
:) well for a deckbuilder you should use all the same cardsleeves since you buy cards and add them to your deck otherwise you kinda know what card you will draw. This game is way to complicated for a deck builder also try Hero Realms / STar Realms which are similar deckbuilders (but way quicker) or Thunderstone.
I really like the idea of this game, mid to late game it looks really fun and you can actually start strategizing. But I totally agree, it's so convoluted getting to that point. I wish it was a bit more concise but it looks pretty fun
@@TheTestTable1 A playmat would change a lot honestly, maybe even stop Connor drawing from the wrong deck 😂 Having everything in the same sleeves would help for gameplay but would suck for organising. Either way, interesting concept
I actually like this game a lot. It's more meant to be an expansion for the earlier game they released. I definitely should look more into deck building games.
This is weird, in the buffy the vampire slayer version of this while youre building your deck the villains still are active during the build phase which makes you have to decide wether to buy stuff or attack the bad guys, heaven forbid the bad guys reach their destination and evolve into a bigger creature lol The buffy game seems to be waaaaay more fun than this.
@@TheTestTable1 To elaborate, Ascension is a deck building game designed by MTG pros that gives you lot of opportunities to create synergies. Also, for the purposes of two-player games, the expansions are often much smaller than the base game and can be played on their own as a two-player game instead of the standard four players. Also, you don't actually have to go through all the cards to end the game.
+100 points for understanding of Rick and Morty. -25 points for being card game experts but misunderstanding deck builders. XD Seriously though deck builders will be long because they're more like a board game experience. I'm assuming you're trolling us with the video title since Deck Builders are radically different from TCGs and the deck-builder category is right on the box.
To be fair, on the back of the box, it said 45 minutes, lmao. Also, I think it would go by a lot faster with more players because you'd be dealing out main deck cards a lot quicker.
@@TheTestTable1 I wonder if you're supposed to lose access tokens you bid with, or just successfully bid with. It would make more sense and make the mechanic a lot more interesting, especially for 3+ players. Deck builders are obviously very different from TCGs, as you guys have experienced. But they can also allow for more balanced play at a better price than engaging in a TCG and there are some deck-builders which are co-op challenges. I recommend the Legendary Firefly Deckbuilder.

Today's knife should have been a broken beer bottle in spirit of the alcoholism
Connor and I should've decided who goes first with a drunken bar brawl. Last one standing gets to go first. Lol
This game reminds me about the time Rick said "your only purpose in life is to buy and consume merchandise."
Wubba lubba dub dub morty! Buy our merch!
I played like 7 to 10 games of star realms during this.

Nope
One you guys I hope find is the original Net Runner Ccg.

Good to know, we'll skip it lol
you can apparently merge any of the games that use those rules which is why they have generic backs.
