I bought this yesterday as a first deck and after putting my energy into it and having a few readings with it,I already got familiar with it. I personally went to get rider waite, but I didn't find it and after searching and looking at all types of tarot decks there were, I got this. I personally like it and the guidebook is such a huge help! Thank you for your review, I didn't watch anything before, I didn't even know about it until I saw it in the store, but it feels like I've made the right decision
Ah ! This deck, I decided to cancel my preorder when I saw on instagram it was going to be a pip deck, I loved so much the majors too ! I think the most fascinating thing for me was the concept around elements and no people at all. I'm not preordering decks without seeing what I'm getting now (I'll let me believe this for 5 mn) Hope this deck is going to work for you, thank you for the first impression ! =D
Thank you for the Flip through -- I love the pip arrangements, especially the Swords!! I was getting pulled in and had to pause a few times during the Majors. Much appreciated!!
I never noticed the tentacles on mine unless it’s different on mine I will have to check. Also mine never felt thing. I love them either way thin or not. Of course I’ve not used any other tarot decks before and these feel so thick and heavy to me so I can’t imagine what others might be like
Dustin showed this deck on Three Fat Readers today, and he said he thought the guidebook was one of the best ever. It did seem from the two cards you read about that it was pretty in depth. What do you think of it now?
i ended up purchasing an opened but unused copy of this yesterday. I have been wanting a pip deck, and I loved the images in this deck. I'm hoping the art style will help me get over my fear of learning to read pips. Thank you 😊 💓
The minor cards have the background portraying the element each suit represents and it's immensely emphasized. Like you read in the book, the human figures (along with their pictorial stories) are completely abolished thus only the elements reign throughout the minor series. If you ask me, I'm not in for this one. But it'd be interesting for those of different orientations.
Thank you for this reading, it would have been nice if the pips had astrological signs on them, though in addition to the elementals. Thank you for this video 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I think for this deck, you have to be familiar with tarot in general and the majors in particular, to know whose perspective you are being invited to assume. Like in the Strength card, we’re supposed to be the maiden who has tamed that big kitty. For the minors, you have to be comfortable with pips. And for the courts, you have to know that King of Cups is elementally considered Air of Water to “get” the minimalistic design. I think it’s quite clever and would make a good study deck for people who want to dive deeper into the esoteric symbolism. But it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. A self care deck...
Mine is arriving tomorrow and I am not sure what to do with it now! I do love the artwork and lack of people out of a beauty mag. lol However, you stating the cardstock being thin has me concerned now. Thank you for the walkthrough.
Honestly, just see how you feel about it when you get it. The card stock is thin, but it isn't the thinnest type I own. It's a decent price and the art is gorgeous. I just think it will be an adjustment.
@@WickedMoonlight1 It's a little more expensive here in Canada, as always! Decks have become like gold. lol Shipping as gotten the same idea, charging for a gold bar weight. lol In most cases, the shipping is more than the product itself!
@@WickedMoonlight1 I finally worked up the courage to open it. You're so right on the thin cardstock! They could of done a lot better. I also made the decision to keep it as the artwork, which is what inspired me to buy it is so beautiful, I just can't part with that. Again, thank you for being so honest with your review, I really appreciate this.
I wanted this deck so bad...until I saw that the minors are pips and I don't know how to read pip cards. I still kind of want to but it just to see if I could read with it since it's not expensive.
I don't know how to feel about this deck. I put it on my wishlist when it was available for pre-order. I really LOVE the major arcana and loved the concept of not having people. But they really cheaped out on the minors, I think if the minor were illustrated it would have made this deck so much better. However, I find that publisher publishes a lot of pip decks. All of the decks by Jayne Wallace are pip style and all published by Cico books. And not that I hate pip style decks, honestly, I have a few I love, I just don't know. In Canada, it's $26. But like you, I was a bit confused with the court cards, I wish that it was clearer between the queen and king. But I guess if you use it a lot, you'll eventually get used to it. As for cardstock, that doesn't bother me much. I did like that it was matte and not gloss coated. I think I'll leave it on my wishlist for now, but there's decks I want more atm than that one.
I honestly don't think it will be an issue to learn on this if you are drawn to it and like using it. It could just be a bit more difficult depending on how you learn. But if you like it, you will learn on it just fine. ❤
Okayish...I just like one thing about this deck and that it doesn't have human figures especially death and devil. I'm kind of looking for a deck that doesn't have people in it but the images should be soft but is this it?....not sure. Thanks for the review ❤
There are quite a few. The Spacious tarot and the Oriens tarot would be to your liking I believe, if you're interested in art without human figures. The Star tarot does have figures in them but you should also check it out.
@@WickedMoonlight1 I'd also love to hear a little bit more of your thoughts on that particular deck in the video. It's depiction is quite unique, almost as if it's from a first person perspective and the reader himself is inside the picture. It's really interesting for me.
I am not a fan of the minors or the courts, which is unfortunate because the majors are so interesting. After seeing some more images and walkthroughs, I took it off my wishlist. It feels like the Spacious Tarot satisfies what I want for not having any human presence, and I find it soothing and peaceful when I use it. The book is also a wonderful little companion. It's a shame because I feel like there was more potential in this deck, but I'm sure others love it and will be happy using it!
Hi DK - what other non-human decks do you love and recommend? I was drawn to this deck because it did not have humans (I don’t see enough diversity in the traditional decks so wanted to avoid any human depiction). But I am a complete novice and I think I am going to find the minor cards difficult to navigate right now. Thanks.
Agreed! And it seems like a lot of decks are getting thinner and thinner too. Maybe because they last to long with good cardstock, but not all decks stay in print.
My 1st thought is I would prefer to have people in my decks. I have the cat 🐱 tarot and never use it. I love cats and they are my favorite pet. But In a tarot it’s hard for me to connect with. Same with the unicorn 🦄 tarot. Then with the pip cards I don’t like. Thin cards got me like eeehhh also. The iN2IT oracle is great but the tarot is super thin! Took some getting used to because the feel of the card I liked but they are super thin. Even more thin than the Kuwait tarot or whatever it is. That’s pink and cute and was only 12$ so I could deal with that. I would never buy this deck unless it was like less than $10 and I still probably wouldn’t use it.
I'm thinking the fool is a lemming... because they jump off cliffs supposedly or something. And chariot is cancer, it's my card 😂 if the chariot sucks it can break a deck for me. Not only am I a cancer but my lifepath number is 7, and any which way I break my birthday down numerologically, it ends up being 7. That card is a bit important for me. Just a bit. 😆
Ugh. That. Sucks. Bad cardstock, ok, can get over that. But I'm not a fan of the chariot AT ALL and then the minors are pips.... eeesh. That ruined it for me. Damn. There were a few cards that were really nice. 😕

Sometimes decks just dont do it for us and thats ok. I am sure there are others that absolutely love this deck.

This is very beautiful deck. It is not for everyone and this is why I love it!
You’ve hit the nail on the head with it for me these were my exact feelings when I looked through it for the first time ❤️
❤

I find this perspective really interesting, not my top choice nor an everyday deck but a clarifying to maybe combine with another for me.

@@WickedMoonlight1 I like your video though, because you went to the book. Do you have another deck that pushes the elemental angle? Antihaul style?
Whenever I flip through the book there are no interpretations available for reversed cards, so do you even acknowledge reversed cards in this deck?
Could you do a video about how to read pip cards?
I can absolutely do that

Love decks without human figures, they're the ones I relate to the most, the minor arcana in this is disappointing tho, but the majors are amazing.
