When the guy who has ridden perfect Alaska condition says this is one of the best run of his life. You know Japan is on some shit. Can't wait to go next year!
@@GimbalGod As a skier I haven’t skied anything that deep but have a little experience with deep snow. You need to pop out to be able to turn, kind of bouncing your way down, riding the ramp you’re creating with your skis or board. I’ve skied all over Europe as well as Jasper and Whistler🇬🇧
@@grumpyone5963 It`s the same snow. But it can dump extremely much in one day, the terrain is different, like you have bamboo plants all over. And from my experience fewer people go off piste, so more snow for grabs. + just the experience with the culture. I have had equally amazing snow in Austria, Norway, Canada, but as a whole experience, Japan was probably best :P
@@GimbalGod every year one or two people disappear on that run to the dam. Theres a pretty crazy cliff band if you angle too much skiers left as well. Still prob the best run in Japan.
Wow that’s some long lines for the lift. A lot of Japanese resorts won’t let you use your boards to line up for the lift either before it opens. Can confirm been a few dumps in the last week or so. Once you’ve had japow you can’t go back. A lot of Japan isn’t steep enough for the amount of snow. Skis sometimes makes it easier.
Dude love your videos. What GoPro setting / mount do you use to get your board & body in the frame? I got the Gopro 10 black on the front of my helmet and can never. Is it the FOV settings on yours do you have your GoPro mounted in a specific spot?
So all of this was a GoPro MAX On the 10 I would run a 4:3 mode and if you wanted to get the most amount of field of view I would get yourself a max lens. Probably can find a used one online somewhere
I love the vibe of this vid so much. I live here in Japan and absolutely love snowboarding, but I’ve got like ZERO friends who snowboard lol. Amazing vid per youshh bro.
Yeap. that was me when I was younger. My "friends" would just party. So I spent a great many days alone in the mountains snowboarding. No regrets. Those people won't be there whene you're older anyways, trust me, so might as well do you.... You have to man... Or you'll miss your whole life.
Same here. And living in Miyazaki far from the snow. My one friend who actually does snowboard went to Hakuba the day I returned from Myoko😂but epic snow even with no friends😂
Still have a party wave in my quiver. I really want to spend some time on the new surfer. It’s similar but softer. Been mostly on the turbo since march
Hi man! Great vid :) I was wondering if u were planning on updating the gimbal god tutorial, or if you've made significant changes to your settings since then. Just curious since I saw the GoPro setup vid and it seems like a lot has changed from the tutorial and that. Thanks man, and keep up the quality content :D
The tutorial is still my set standard for all my settings till today. All the basics and essentials for exporting, motion tracking, denoising and coloring are in that pack. I wanted to release this fall but got busy with Judd and Torgeir’s release of their projects. Will have something very special coming fall of 24’
I went to Niseko over Christmas and new year. The snow was good but not 1m deep good. Probably best tho as it was my sons first snowboard holiday and I would have spent most of my time digging him out. The gates weren't open at this point either, I guess that the snow came after I left.
first run I ever took in japan sounded exactly like Spenny's, a whole bunch of "oh my fucking... OHHH. WOOOO" and running out of breath from frothing too hard
I like to stay present and the best place for me is where I am today but I do really enjoy Interior British Columbia it is like the Indonesia of snowboarding
I was in Myoko the day of this massive dump. I dug my car out from 60cm of snow and made the long drive back home for work. I’ll be regretting that decision for the rest of my life 😆
@@GimbalGodsorry I mean more like the base (can still see a few shrubs). Don’t think you could get better over night dump. I’ll be back in a couple weeks but doubt I’ll get as lucky! Epic video as always! 🤙

It was seriously so so so damn wild. Will never get that image and feeling of the first run out of my mind
@@GimbalGodhow was this vs baldface this week?
Japans snow is just different.
I’ve been to Alaska, everywhere in the US, the Alps, Japan is an experience.
Oh yes you are 100% right nothing compares. Not saying it’s better than everything but an unforgettable experience nonetheless haha
Do you mean it’s lighter powder, less sticky and therefore easier to ride or ski on? It did look awesome.🇬🇧
@@grumpyone5963 no easy to ride because it is so bottomless. Up to my waist and chest it was crazy

sick spenny, how insane is cortina! that tree section out the top gate is wild, just goes on and on. need to get back there
Make sure ya have your avy pack ❤️ and experience and a good crew. It was fun but can get dangerous fast. That place is all time.

hakuba cortina
Looks awesome!! But why are you not using a powder board?
I am! Party wave+ brother. 28cm waist width. Perfect when it’s a meter deep. You want something that has max surface area that floats in the light pow
