Charlotte Blake Alston! I couldn't stop listening, you are mesmerizing, eloquent and elegant. I'm so proud to know you and to have seen and witnessed you in person! And I learned so much from you in this talk--you're a teacher, a preacher! Love to you, dear woman!
WOW!!! Just.... WOW! We MUST preserve the art of storytelling and protect our Grios at all costs. Thank you Mama Alston for living beautifully in your art.
Charlotte, you are so amazing; you still wrap my heart and mind around the stories you tell. And the reminder of why we need the traditional stories is very important. You are still my storytelling hero!
Exquisite!!! Yes, when I hear your stories and your understanding of the importance of stories in our world, my ears open. And so does my heart. Thank you for a breathtakingly beautiful presentation, Charlotte Blake Alston.
Yes! Brilliant as always! Thank you for being my friend, one of my few story mentor's (whether you want to be or not;-) and a fellow Dunbarian! You did that "When Malindy Sings" girl...I'm call you "'Lias' Aunty" from now on! Thanks for explaining so eloquently the value of what we do, why we do it and in listening and watching you give this talk....how Storytellers should be doing it! Congratulations to TED for recognizing your life work! Sisterly love in story! OniLuv*!*
Just heard on BYU Radio her "Hammers of steel rang out", a rap about John Henry and was so enthralled, I couldn't flip the channel. I grew up with Harry Belafonte's "John Henry" but her version is quite memorable. That said, holy generation gap, Batman!
dunno if anyone gives a damn but if you're bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother for the last weeks =)
