Again right on time and with all the information you need if you want to start flying the new DJI FLIP a video by none other than Billy Kyle, thanks for sharing for people like me who like to see someone else do it first before getting started themselves!
Bllly, thanks for the demonstration of this drone. Looks like fun to fly it. I actually was waiting for you to do a flip with it! Laughs! I like it but probably not enough to buy at least right away. I have my eye on some of the other newer drones out or coming out. Thanks for sharing and get out of the cold buddy!
Been looking for 2 weeks at drones and wondered which would be good for me - use for when on holiday on beaches and walks - also when motorbiking in Spain Italy & France etc when we stop for the views etc would be good to take some cool footage when we visit different areas and countries cheers - looked at Flip but also more expensive 1 mini 4 pro
When looking at this to start with, I thought just a toy, won't want that. Now having seen a good few video, I am amazed how well the follow works at such a low altitude. In fact that word is wrong when it seems happy at shoulder height. Now as I have quite a few drones, due to watching people like you, I don't really need another controller of any type. Would be real nice to be able to pick up just the plane and not have the bag, which I never use. Maybe I'd add in the battery dock, but that would be it. Don't even need anymore USB c leads
Before they start introducing a new drone I wish they would somehow address the U.S. retailer supply issues of their current drones. I realize the U.S. government and customs are the ones making it difficult, but I am sure there is some agreement that can be reached to resolve this. Otherwise individual orders directly from DJI are hit or miss in actually reaching the customers in the U.S.
DJI has sued the US government, who is showing no signs on backing down to call DJI a chinese military company and get them banned. And custom's is holding the drones on claims of forced labor... I doubt there is an agreement to be made
I ordered my Air 3S new on Ebay from a seller in south korea, theres a bunch of sellers there. Was 100 dollars less there than on the DJI website for the flymore bundle with RC2 controller, and shipped via fedex internation priority. I had it in hand here in Florida two days later.
To expound on my previous comment. There is also the issue of the care refresh service for U.S. customers, as there have been many reports of drones being returned to customers after repairs or replacement by DJI that are being stopped by customs and not allowed return. So that is another issue. I love DJI products, and there are truly no viable consumer product options available so I hope the U.S. and DJI can resolve this as soon as possible.
Awesome concept looking forward to seeing how DJI goes forward with it .Gonna hold out for the Mini 5 though ,I live here in Windber ,Pa always seems to be windy right around any corner as the mountains are always in your face ,the Mini 4 handles amazingly well
Can you talk about how it performs in autonomous Direction Track as compared to the Neo? Even with the last update, the Neo really struggles with Direction Track at anything faster than a walking pace.
I am just starting out with drones, and waited for this release. Based on my non-existent experience flying a drone, I decided to go with the Neo for now and then move to an Avata or Mini 4 series. PS - love the Manayunk, Schuylkill River views... born and raised in Philly / So Jersey.
Good luck with that. Several years ago I set a 5 drone limit. That lasted though exactly ONE release. Currently at 11. My one concession was not getting another RC-2. Going to multipurpose one of the 3 I have. They sold out Fky Mores, had to order separates, and battery stock is once again in short supply.
Always cool seeing the new products, however I wish DJI would just build a tracking feature for bikes! My old skydio is still the only one that can do it successfully. One day haha
As always Billy, Great Video! I wish there was a drone-only purchase option for those of us who already have an RC. They could easily get $350 for this drone.
Everyone needs to take a shot every time Billy says "Propeller Guards" - I'm not sure if Billy means the black wire "guards" which don't introduce much noise, but rather the ported propulsion design of the aircraft.
Billy is looking up for divine intervention 😂. Fo all those predicting the failure of the flip, I wouldn't bet the farm on that outcome. DJI has record orders and is selling out stock worldwide.
nice vid as always. I sold all my drones but I miss droning so I’m thinking to get one again. I really like this new DJIs, also this one. but I checked the price and it’s more than double compared to the Neo. so for an entry level drone (if it is one) it’s just too much for me - as a casual/hobby droner.

The only thing bothering me is that in order to buy this drone, I have to buy yet another RC along with it (I I have the RC-N3, the RC1&2 already bought with other drone)s. In my humble opinion, it is a pain to be forced to buy something you already have... What do you guys think about this?
IMO the whole point of the Mini line is to be compact and light. I can fit the M4P in my jacket pocket and be inconspicuous. Whilst this product is a blend of regular and fpv, it’s a weird idea
I think its an interesting concept drone, but will not make much a splash in the product line. The Neo has interesting pros/cons that make it attractive for its price point. But if you want a better cinematic drone than the Neo, most people still prefer the Mini 4 pro.
"It doesn't have obstacle avoidance ".....another review I just watched showed the flip refusing to crash into a tree and likewise, would not crash into the reviewer. Would this not be classed as obstacle avoidance??
I know they want to save features for the more expensive drones, but honestly, omni directional obstacle avoidance should be standard on every drone at this point. Surely those cheap, low megapixel, black and white cameras don't add too much to cost. Probably another intentional decision from DJI
DJI has scrapped its proprietary geofencing system DJI has scrapped its proprietary geofencing system in favor of official Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data across the United States12345. The changes took effect on Monday on both the DJI Fly and DJI Pilot flight apps3.
249g is such a hilarious marketing gimmick thanks to the frankly idiotic drone laws. If you put an ND filter that weighs 1 gram more than the stock lens cover, you are now flying "illegally without a license". And if you want to tape a piece of paper on your 251g drone to mark it with your registered flyer number (as required by law), it now goes up another gram or two. Like just the idea itself that marking your drone with a registration number to be legal, pushes it over the legal limit... The marking itself is what makes it require the marking. Its so stupid, and so hilarious.. Hopefully one day the dusty tech-grandpas in governments will revise the laws to make them more sensible (and forgiving). And lets not even start talking about "VLOS", where legally, even passthrough goggles dont "count" as visual, since its through cameras. Meaning of course, that EVERY fpv drone is technically illegal to fly with the goggles. Even though you are SAFER and see MORE through the drone camera itself, of where the drone is, than with your eyeballs at 100m range looking at a tiny dot. So stupid..
Billy, so how is content providers going to fly it without RID? Attaching an exteranl RID module is definitely going to increase the weight over 249 grams.
@TheDroneRanger215 I'm confused by the rule. But that's probably by design. I think category 1 goes over 249g to 330g i think. But, RID module has to built into the drone not added. Maybe I'm wrong but the rules are written on such a fine line, like the IRS.
Hopefully the future Mini 5 Pro will be a big win. I could care less for both the Neo and the DJI Flop. The duel blade props make stability rough. I like the prop guards. Just need them up higher with RID and the Mini Series quality and we’d have a winner. Thank you for the video Billy. 😊

Good drone for beginners and content creators. Great review Billy, thanks for sharing.

Great review Billy. I always enjoy the great info you give us to help decided what drones we want to buy next.
Thanks for the review and demo! Waiting for mine to arrive. The weather seems to have delayed shipping and a lot of other stuff lately.
Thanks for the idea and you may be able to use this handheld camera lol I will now search online to see if anyone have done it

First reviewer to comment on the sound of the drone, most are brushing it aside like they are scared of DJI
51 Drones commented, Captain Drone had a fair amount to say, Dustin Dunhill did an indoor sound test, Air Photography did sound comparisons.

Sounds like US and customs issue NOT DJI
Great video! THANK YOU 👍

Great video, Billy, But I'll probably pass on this one! 8 is enough for now, lol. I need to downsize my fleet!
8 is enough? 😂

Two minutes into the video, I'm totally wasted....
Come on Billy, insanely cold? Hahaha
Thanks for the review though. It will help with my sales pitch, as usual
so you didn't lose GPS in the parking garage?
My thoughts too!
I was hoping they would make it compatible with Goggles N3 and motion controller like the NEO.
Can we pair DSJI FLIP with a DJI Motion Controller? can you test this please ?
Billy is looking up for divine intervention 😂. Fo all those predicting the failure of the flip, I wouldn't bet the farm on that outcome. DJI has record orders and is selling out stock worldwide.

The price is decent but the noise and wind resistance is a killer!! Also where is the drone only option!
The noise is way better than the neo at least. I agree though, its crazy that they don't offer a drone only option
IMO the whole point of the Mini line is to be compact and light. I can fit the M4P in my jacket pocket and be inconspicuous. Whilst this product is a blend of regular and fpv, it’s a weird idea
yeh the flip has 2 x the footprint of the mini 4 pro, compact it is not
I think its an interesting concept drone, but will not make much a splash in the product line. The Neo has interesting pros/cons that make it attractive for its price point. But if you want a better cinematic drone than the Neo, most people still prefer the Mini 4 pro.
They need to unlock 4k 120fps on the dji avata 2.
I had high hopes that this would be a category 1 drone. I think they missed the mark with no remote ID ... at least for part 107 folks.
he keeps looking up like he's expecting a meteor to hit him. (Yes, I know, he's checking his camera view).
"It doesn't have obstacle avoidance ".....another review I just watched showed the flip refusing to crash into a tree and likewise, would not crash into the reviewer. Would this not be classed as obstacle avoidance??
How fast is it? I hate slow drones like the Avata 2
I know they want to save features for the more expensive drones, but honestly, omni directional obstacle avoidance should be standard on every drone at this point. Surely those cheap, low megapixel, black and white cameras don't add too much to cost. Probably another intentional decision from DJI
Billy slow down when you talk 😂
Hold up. My guy flying in manayunk
DJI flip ❌
Dji flop✅
Private Kyle, do not use your passively cooled drone as a ground camera!
This drones made purely to take videos and pictures only
No FPV etc
Billy; trust your setup! Very distracting the way you keep looking up😂
Mini 4 Pro is clearly the better option
if only I could fly it with goggles 3....

No good at all if there's wind
Not a Mini Drone. its a Big One !!!
Worst design ever by DJI.
Why do you think so? 🤔
.....in your opinion.
@ yes, on my opinion.
But any reason?

Big pass!
Interesting design, at this price point, the Mini 4 Pro is a win
I am just going to wait for the Mavic 4 Pro
same
Pointless release.
249 grams without remote ID, does this disqualifies it from flying over people without a waiver?
Sure does.
that’s a no from me, dawg
And it makes this review FAA evidence. Unless Billy is a volunteer, that's probably it.

The propeller guards look like bicycle rims without the tubes/tires on. Lol. It's a nice drone, it's different.
Do "duel" blades fight each other?
