Very clever you are! I really like your workaround for finding the fret spacings....way better than doing some flavor of math! Great little fret slice fence block too. Keepin' it simple, priceless. Great work man!
I always liked the method of scribing the fret line with a sharp blade first, such as a scalpel, Exacto or a flat sided knife edge, which will act like a guide for the kerf of the saw. But good to see you back in the GGBO!
I really like the placement of where your inlay logo is going to be on the Wenge fret board. That should look cool with the grain pattern of the fret board.
Some time ago I did a fretboard out of the same piece. So I knew if I had enough length for the 12th to land in the middle of that pattern, that it would be awesome. It does turn out pretty great. Thanks for watching!
Great work as always mate, if your having problems with acrilic colouring your epoxy, i use ether mica powders for opaque colours or spirit inks for transparent, the less water content the better it will set.
What a gorgeous fretboard. The concept of fan frets still does my head in how that works for intonation. To me it seems like they would need to have an arch to be accurate. Almost to the point of looking "microtonal" I think is the word?
It's gonna look great! Tiny point.... You cut the nut face using the same rules as a fret (down the centre of the line). The nut needed to be fully on the edge of the saw kerf. I might be wrong and don't mean to sound like a dick, but maybe the nut needs a thin shim to push it away from the first fret just a touch?
Actually I compensated for that when I drew it. That’s not tiny 😅 I have to put careful thought into each one because some of my template boards are cut for a zero fret and some are cut traditional. Good eye though, I’m glad somebody noticed.
@@BoneheadGuitars Oh man, I almost didn't mention it because I'm the student and you're running the class. Got some great ideas from your channel. Shame I can't add a photo in these comments.
That is a fantastic fretboard. Absolutely love that.

Thanks man :D
you got me with the "to the bandsaw" sound effect 🤣🤣🤣

That fretboard looks fantastic, love the 12th fret vib of it

I tried it as a cheap experiment, just wasn't that great. I've since gotten some actual epoxy stains. A world of difference.

I’m surprised no one has offered to do a video on showing you a better way to do your fret slots
🤣😂🤣😂🤣

That’s very often not the case. You guys tend to catch things I don’t and offer ideas that I hadn’t had. I appreciate the feedback. 😀
