This has gotta be the best KCM season yet. Amazing games every week and then we get treated to a game like Snow vs Queen. It's crazy how the skill level of players and quality of games is still increasing after 25+ years
I analyzed the battle between YSC and Royal and there were several notable reasons for the result:
1) Very late siege by half of the tanks from Royal
2) The bottom flank of goons was able to close the distance with the tanks quickly, and great target firing by YSC allowed 3 tanks to be killed almost immediately
3) Ineffective target firing by royal overkilled single dragoons instead of spreading the damage more efficiently
4) Highground misschance caused several siege shot misses
5) Looking at the supply 129 YSC and 120 Royal significantly favored Royal, and the expected result of the battle would be Royal favored, however, better target firing and micro by YSC, and poor target firing, and reaction time led to a deserved battle result in favor of YSC
yep, all good observations. The decisive battle at 58:36 was just a disaster.
Also, a fairly important note that Royal was still at 1 1 upgrades at that point, 15 minutes in. It makes such a huge difference.

@@Sc9cvsd WTF is everyone surprised about. Queen had all the bases and the onus was on protoss to take a base or bust. It was obvious snow was behind for 15 minutes before the GG.
Carrier n dragoon was stork's style back in the day.

Queen vs Snow - legendary game! So many reversals!
2:35:25: Funny resource imbalance between Queen and Snow: Queen has gas but no minerals, while Snow has minerals but no gas.
That's the nature of super lategame ZvP usually, hard to get value out of Zerg gas units, hard to get value out of Protoss mineral units relatively speaking.
Dang it Snow you almost won it 🥲, this battle with Queen is legendary! Fighting till the last breath!

Appreciate the commentary no doubt, but the zerg bias is top kek. "Oh I think Queen miiiighttt be able to win?" while Queen has literally all the bases lmao. Defiler infinite plague spamming @ 75 minerals per plauge, instantly bringing 700min 400gas worth of units to 1 health with each plague, yet noting how "OP" archons and reavers are.
And re: dark archons, they're fucking expensive and have shit health, a handful of 25 min cracklings make them pop like balloons.
Dude, Jaedong's hydra micro vs YSC and overall play was top notch. Shades of 2011 Jaedong.

@@LuckyStilet1 Scourge will wreck those expensive scouts. Especialyl without speed. Fleet beacon, stargate, scout. It's ridiculous to invest in that when scourge can just wipe it. A well defended zerg island can't be stopped.
2:14:16 Cheeky drone pickup vs. the zealot drop. Then the drone hangs out in the overlord until mutas clean up the zealots, and eventully the drone rebuilds the island expo at 2:17:00.
Some drones mine until they die or the game ends, some drones go on little adventures. Guys living his best life.

1:41:05 the vulture has to be facing in the direction you want it to go before you hop it seems.
Doesn't have to be, but it helps since there's less frames needed to turn first before input of mineral sliding being executed. Tanks will also shoot faster if they are already aiming in the direction they need to fire, but it's only fractions of a difference.

I think queen hit rock bottom missing ASL and since then seems like he has had a pretty big come back in terms of play quality. Maybe not all the way back to his back to back wins form but definitely better

Actually I agree on the statement that Snow is very very good, but he is lacking ASL. Wish him next ASL to be a Champ. Hes PvsZ need a bit more crazyness like Mini done before two years.

Depending on the timing of attack and game state, yeah. Sometimes you want that extra 50 minerals/minute to keep pumping too, look how mineral tight Barracks still is without sacrificing SCVs to front. But he is also just weak in TvP, has like a 30% record overall, his TvZ is pretty godly though.
It's annoying to always be talking about Flash but the reason this return of his is interesting is that for the first time in his BW career he's struggling.
He struggled in SC2 but that was a different game, however when coming back from his previous breaks from the game (army, wrist issues etc) Flash was always able to get back on the saddle right away, this time he is looking washed like an old relic and sporting an outdated mindset, which was previously unthinkable.
And the maps aren't even that hard for terran, if Flash had come back at the end of last year with the ultra-Protoss favored map pool he would have been murdered.
Everyone got a lot better whereas Flash got rustier and out of touch a bit, it takes a lot longer than a few months to switch that up. Give him 6-12 months then we'll see where he's at. He won't win next ASL but if he carries on at this rate will probably be a fairly big monster again just not as dominant.

Not when Zerg is good because of maps but when you have proper Zerg leaders around.
the last ZvP match (the long one) I think hallucinated archon trick would have been a better use of his gas than storms
EZ counter just retreat, take 0 damage and wait for the hallucinations to pop.

@@anonymousAJ Oh you mean a glitch? Doubt that's allowed in KCM or ASL. Besides, guardians wreck archons if they are out of reach using the cliff edge.

LMAO protoss losing on troy to guardians. Can't stop laughing. Next season protoss might go on strike again. Then we'll have troy SEE with five free dragoons for protoss on spawning.
Queen was getting BTFO by reavers until he made the guardians. Guardians exist to defeat reavers and seige tanks, so I don't know why you think it's weird that Queen used guardians to attack reavers.
I'm crazy or it feels weird dying with 3K minerals?
If you're referring to the super long PvZ, you have limited minerals in that situation but infinite gas potentially, and it's harder to get value out of mineral units compartively to Zerg who can still get a lot of value out of cracklings meaning they will usually have a lot of gas and protoss a lot of minerals in stalemate; so you have situations where Protoss is banking minerals and waiting for gas (get 75 gas / minute per depleted extractor so with 4 can make only 2 templars a minute still) whereas Zerg is potentially banking gas cause they spend all their minerals and calculating how to tactically invest it, since guardians don't trade well on paper - so not weird at all.

@@1cortar The only protoss units doing well at the end of that game were reavers and templars. Zealots get BTFO by cracklings and hydras.
Carriers are complete bs. Wish they never put them in the game. Just ridiculous how un even the fight is when they get out in a mass amount. He was basically dead. Gets 4 Carriers and the game is over. Such bs
Toss can only go carriers if they have an advantage or they get rushed and busted. Carriers is pretty much the only reliable way to beat 3/3/200 mech. Flash built his entire TvP by exploiting this by turtling like a shithead to 3/3/200 and constantly scanning for carriers or overexpansion to rush. Fortunately the meta evolved past that.
