I'm going back to a downspout job that we installed. It's wintertime and we did this is a job in the spring. Eight months ago we had a lot of obstacles on this run. We ended up with 55 ft of trench and I'm going to show you what we did and I'm going to explain to you all the details why we did what we did so that this drainage will last forever. We wanted to make sure that we built in a lot of freeze protection so that this homeowner never has to suffer from a failed underground buried downspout line.

I have one of those "broom sticks" sitting in my gutter above every downspout. It keeps the leaves and sticks from going down the downspout. I have to clean my gutters every year and it's not as easy as your down spout cleanout but it works.

How about some sort of custom NWGeotex fabric as a filter inside that downspout collector?

It will plug with shingle gravel and in the spring. It will plug with pollen from the trees. There's 37 years of experience built into that product. I wholeheartedly believe it doesn't have a failure mode.

How deep is the frost line in Michigan? I need to install your system at my home, but here in Wyoming, I may need to go deeper than what im seeing in your videos. Any advice?

Michigan has a 42" code to be below frost for sewage pipes and sump pump discharge. Downspout lines are shallow and in the frost

Confused. On other videos you have a 3-4’ knife cut going to emitter for complete water drainage. Needed or not? If emitter is open bottom or has holes in bottom is the knife cut then not needed? Thank you!

This is a 3" system that has 56% less water in it, the a 4" pipe.
