No guitarist has that much passion, power and skill. Had the privilege and honour to see him performing at the Glasgow carling academy many years ago. My jaw hit the floor Watching him.
No one, and I mean no one, has that much passion and ability to stir the soul like Gary Moore.
And being 61 years young. And having "being around the block afew times" I think know what I'm talking about. We will never see another like him.
Period. And shame on those so called guitar "experts" who rank him so low. You wouldn't know real talent if it bit you in the arse.

Probably the best guitarist ever. For emotion you should hear his” Separate Ways “ extended intro version from London 1992

Gary is my favorite guitarist. There was a time when Gary went to see the "new guy" Eddie Van Halen. He didn't like it. Thought it was all flash and no emotion. A year or so later they were sharing a concert bill. And Eddie was a huge fan of Gary. They started chatting and Eddie asked to try one of Gary's guitars. Eddie said, "How do you play this thing??". Gary's set-up guitar wise was very different from Eddie's. The way Gary can deliver emotion thru his playing is astounding.

This classic might sound familiar bc its been covered by many guitarists over the years. I heard blues phenom, Jonny Lang kill it years ago, live!

I'm pretty shure, he was not sober at this gig. Could'nt have been this great without some whiskey or whatever. Sober artists don't deliver that much soul and blues... My opinion, love it for over 30 years...

For sure you can't be sure, Horst. I'm a dry alcoholic for 13 years now, i know stuff. But sorry, mate, such a Talent, such a feeling and outstanding skills..and he look so whiskeylet...for that then he must be drunk. Serious, that are you arguments.? Hey, no offense, but that's ignorant crap. And just guessing without knowing. For example Robin Williams, such a multiple genious, always at the edge and full of Power. In the seventiesand eighties he drank alot and did alot of cocaine and everybody said cause of that he was that brilliant. Fug No, he was born that way.
And Gary, yes he had trouble with alcohol at times. But not as bad as it is written and said in media by some journalists who don't know nothing. Also this disgusting lie bout his unreal blood alcohol % at the time he past away. And also his heart failure was not the cause of drinking. He suffert nearly his whole life from this heart illness. He never mentioned it in public, of course, why should he. He kept his private life away from media and also from his work as a musician. If i don't know a single thing bout a person, no matter is it a movie star, musician or just an odinary guy, then i don't make statements or share rumors. It's very easy and a question of respect. So you asked probably why i am here and talk bout Gary. Fair enough. In 1985 i found my place in music and in life. I became a Metalhead and after Maiden i found Gary. In 1989 i got lucky and was able to see Gary live on stage and it changed everything. Bout 8 years ago a friend of mine told me she shared some of my Gary Moore Artwork with few friends of her. I told her very well not to share my stuff. I rarely show or share my stuff. Long Story short, i nearly past out as she told me that she showed my Art to Patricia Moore, Gary Moore's little sister (a great musician and singer herself). She was very touched by my artwork. Damn, his little sis loves my stuff. We became very close friends since then. She told me alot private things bout Gary, wich i keep private. But she also clear out those very hurting rumors and lies bout Gary. That's the reason why I stand up for Gary, cause he himself cannot. I don't do that very often, almost never. Cause alot of those fakk'n storytellers are not worth it. I don't see you as such a bad person, so i thought i tell you some truth and explain some things. I wish you and your love ones a peaceful, new week & stay safe...

The distortion depends on many things... strings, use of whammy bar, pedals and particular tuning. Every guitar sounds different!
    I'm down for more GM!
