With a 328xi, how does one activate the buttons on the steering wheel to work? Do the steering wheel buttons have to be turned on with radio controls ?
Yes you can, just scroll up or down the analog scroller, the virtual button will show up below your speedometer. I just don't get why there is no mute/start button on the steering wheel, if you're using a right hand drive you have to reach for that button on far left. (they didn't bother mirroring the radio button)
Just got a CPO M240i. Love the car, but it seems the Germans are obsessed with buttons. The user interface is far better in my Toyota pickup...especially on the steering wheel. Plus no touch screen provision. Bummer.

@@12321vin not on the steering unless you count turning the volume down as mute. The music still goes on anyway if you do that.
I'm talking about my 2012 model. Maybe(I'm not 100% sure) if you get id6/id7 the mute and start button will show up under the speedometer.
