  • Because dyslexia and ADHD share a common cerebellar origin manifested by balance and coordination dysfunctioning, these overlapping disorders and their many symptoms all respond favorably to simple and safe inner-ear-enhancing meds. As a result, stimulants may not be needed or be required in very low doses.
    Harold Levinson, M.D. is a world-renowned psychiatrist and neurologist. He is credited with bringing about a dramatic medical breakthrough in the understanding, diagnosis and successful treatment of dyslexia and its many related signal-scrambling disturbances of the inner-ear and the cerebellum.
    Dr. Levinson began his dyslexia research over 30 years ago within the New York City Board of Education. Formerly Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at New York University Medical Center, Dr. Levinson is now Director of The Medical Dyslexic Treatment Center (also called The Levinson Medical Center For Learning Disabilities) in Great Neck, NY. Dr. Levinson's research has been published in many scientific and peer-reviewed journals and reviewed by top media including The New York Times, Science, TIME, Smithsonian, "The Today Show" and "Larry King Live."
    The Levinson Medical Facility for Dyslexia or LD is highly unique. For those children and adults with Dyslexia or LD, ADHD, Anxiety/Phobias and related disorders, an appointment at our Medical Center would ensure all with an accurate diagnosis. Most important, the test results will lead to rapid and often dramatic improvements in 75--85% of medically treated individuals. When effective non-medical therapies are added, 100% will benefit.

    MORE PLEASE...the world needs more honest medical doctors who identify root causes of ADHD like Dyslexia and wholistic approach like Education instead of medication. The pill does not build the skill people. Find you own prescription: clear you negative signals and be gifted, free yourself from the label and stigma of a genetic "mental disorder" and "disability."

      Well if your brain is not receiving the signals correctly, you need to correct that. Although I had tried, for the first 50 years of my life through food, sleep, anti-stress, which all helped a little ... I could not do it alone. So for my second 50 years - I wanted a professional that could help me manage my LD's. And I found that professional in Dr. Levinson.

      Great. So just clear the negative vibes... I'm sorry but how is this not just an abelist argument? "Just stop being a problem. Look at people without problems. Be like them."?
      I appreciate the obvious intent to dispel the idea of intellectual barriors like "I cant do a or b." I'm just concerned when people all just decide this is an attitude issue instead of an actual neurodevelopmental disorder.

      Dr. Levinson recommended for me - several of the Meds that he explains in his book "Smart but Feeling Dumb". I got 1 prescription for ADD, and several over the counter. With each one (that was added one at a time over many weeks) I could tell what it was fixing. The Motion sickness med - helped me read longer without getting that "sick to your stomach feeling", another antihistamine helped clear the fogginess so I could concentrate, the prescription allowed me not to be interrupted. Each worked to get me closer to be productive. Since each person is individual - I recommend you discuss specific medications with Dr. Levinson.

      I got several over the counter brain enhancement herbs and one prescription. All of which are outlined in Dr. Levinson's book "Smart but feeling Dumb".

    • @JilMacMenamin
      @JilMacMenamin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most of them are brain enhancements that you can get at your local Co-op. One is a prescription. Each was added separately a few weeks apart, with increasing the dosage slowly - and with each one, I began to feel slowly better. All of them are listed in Dr. Levinson's book "Smart, but feeling Dumb". Dr. Levinson evaluated me after each.

      @@JilMacMenamin Dr. Levinson talks about inner ear medications. Can you tell me which ones he recommends?

  • @davyhay1
    @davyhay1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So what medications improve inner ear function? I am a practicing attorney are have dyslexia and ADHD. I constantly battle procrastination, and have the other intellectual trappings of ADHD, despite having an intelligence in the top 5 percentile. (my psychologist's words, not mine).

    i don't understand, ok it like brain can't understand what you hear like watching a scramble tv channel i understand that or maybe relate to that when someone talk to me. pls someone explain the solution that doctor said what he found out. thanks

    • @JilMacMenamin
      @JilMacMenamin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He Emmanuel: My problem with sounds - is I have problems separating them. If someone is talking to me with the TV on - I can't really hear either one. I have problems hearing a conversation if there is background sound. If the music is playing in the background - I can't concentrate on what a person is saying to me. My filter to separate the sounds has a very hard time.

    I wonder if this is also how I turn my hearing off. I didn't know I did this untill I was 30 ish when I found that I would sometimes wake up and was deaf, as soon as I realise it my hearing kicks back in with a slight hiss. I thought it had stopped happening after my children were born, but I've caught it happening again in the last two months.

      You set up an appointment at Dr. Levinson's office - you are evaluated with digital instruments that track, eye movement, balance, hearing, etc. Then you are evaluated by Dr. Levinson and he works with you on your specific issues. Working on one at a time - until you feel more in control. After you have a plan, you have Yearly physical exams and quarterly (or as needed) consultations. Dr. Levinson's book "Smart but Feeling Dumb" gives more details.

    Please be careful of this doctor. He offers what claims to be new, innovative, cutting-edge treatments but when one looks at his published articles they are not published in peer-reviewed validated scientific journals. This doctor is somewhat of a fraud; please be careful about who you put your trust in.
