Fun fact: he was one of Abadjiev favourites because he was one of the few of that team that really enjoy being tortured by the bulgarian system. It is known that a lot of his teammates were cheating and lying bout sets and reps done because it was so much intensity that even with a ton of drugs they were feeling pain every day. But this straight up psychopath 😂 really was one of the very few that never lied, cheated and discuss with Ivan, a true insane and powerful mind and body. Oh how I wish they still did the Clean and Press. This is still incredible. Highly efficient explosive strength. This guy has got some super tough muscle fiber.
I think this is a 215 on the bar not 210...if you see closely in the tip of the bar i believe there are two little plates of 2.5 kg not one plus the safety which is another 2.5 kg each side ...anyway great lifts no matter what!!!

I can see red blue yellow yellow green on the bar for 190, plus small whites for 200, and small 2.5s plus collars for 210kg. Unless you think there's another pair of 2.5s.

Still one of the most intense training sessions captured on film. Wish I could have seen this guy lift.

If he makes it on the first or second try Abadjiev will probably shake his hand and after that make him put 5 more kilos on the bar.

the aggression in that clean is mad

that first pull is so quick
Zlatan Vanev is 3 time Champion of the World ,and 4 time European Champion.
So this is where the poster that says " G R I T " comes from. I stare at it so much on my coach's wall between sets!
this is mental!
I come back to this video every once in a while and every single time it is still unbelievable
After watching this to see him do 215 for the world champion (i think) is so satisfying... he really worked hard for it and didn't give up.
That. Is. Insane.

Amazing video! Since you were there...... any idea, or do you recall, how long his rest periods were between these attempts?
I think around 5 minutes
My favorite!
I think he loaded 220kg to the bar right after this and he made it!
The boss!
After the 4th attempt when he’s pacing and that lady is trying to get by I’m always reminded of Oblivion NPCs
His real name is Zlatan not Zlaten. Just like Zlatan Ibrachimovic!

Ibrahimović is from Bosnia and Herzegovina so this guy could be Zlaten since Bulgarian is quite different from Bosnian/Croatian

I swear on everything the camera flashes f’d up his 3rd lift. That camera flash would be insanely distracting
If that bar weights like 150 he would hit the ceiling with that first pull hahah .
