Over my lifetime on the farm we have supported (in order from most recent) a Case IH 2577, 2166, and 1460 with the same 4440 and 500 grain cart. The 4440 is such a legendary tractor. The grain cart has been tipped over at least 3 times and backed into a shed and a gravity box, but it just keeps hauling grain!
If he would want to make it easier, go to your local farm store or auto parts place an get a cheap backup camera. Mounting one on the end of the auger will make you a lot more confident filling that tall trailer
I run a 1991 Ford 8730 2wd pulling an Inverferth 4500 to our CR9.90, doesn't have to be fancy because that doesn't pay the bills. I got the cart cheap with hardly any wear because it's a 500 and that doesn't suit guys filling 20ft boxes, I just need it to take the 410bus off the combine
Doesn't make any difference the make model color or anything else cab beans or corn are just a fact of life !! Hahaha I think if you go back a ways the grain tanks didn't go over the cab or even farther back no cab but recent machines all get it!! When the video started I was thinking the way I remembered those carts they struggled to reach over tall trucks and low and behold there's a tall dump trailer , it was positioned pretty well and the operator did a real good job but it was a tight fit ! Trailer on a high spot and cart to low it was a no go , it was a big advancement in it's day but look how far it's come , these new carts do everything but tarp the truck !!! Before that 500 Deere had a 1210 and then a 1210a they were even shorter and quite a bit smaller not many of them around today I don't think , pretty crude and not to reliable ! Thanks for letting us know that there's still room and reason for the little guy !
I am not sure on the soybean variety. I unfortunately did not get to ride in the combine so I did not see the yield . The soybeans sure looked healthy.
Cool video but we're those two old boys getting along nice to see the two working together after all it's because two companies that made the USA the leaders of the world in agriculture
Jess Roberts I won’t disagree but it handles it just fine from what I’ve seen. They also run a piece of steel or something like that under the drawbar connected to the 3 pt. As support
I have the sales brochure and owners manual in it. Both say 500 bu. When this cart was new the 222 bu John Deere 8820 was the companies biggest combine. So two bin loads from an 8820 would fill it up.
I always liked the 4450 & 4455
Thank you, I really enjoy watching the older equipment working
Garland Henry , that's a nice 👍 looking M you have.🚜
Thank you very much Will. I collect and restore IH
The best equipment is the kind that's paid off.
👍
Its nice to see the smaller operators and older equipment too.
Nice 4450. My dad has an 1983. It’s his planting, spraying and grain cart tractor. Newest one on our farm.
Very cool.

Great harvesting team. Nice IH combine history. I like the 2577. I have filmed a 2588 but hope to catch up with a 2577 some time.
Another fantastic video!....its SOOO cool seeing the older Machines STILL getting it done today....!
It was neat to get to see 500 carts in action on this farm.
Great video, just love these little bit older (70's, 80's and 90's) farm machinery.

Nice video, we run a JD 500 cart on JD 4440 and 9500 JD combine make a nice group of harvesting equipment for us.

Awesome machinery there. I have to admit though my eyes were drawn to that 2388...

The good old days

90's machines were the best!
👍👍
He is running the header almost on the ground??? Glad to see some old school equipment still working in the field.
Randy Studer most of those beans are laid over, so a low header scoops most of them up
Good looking beans. How did they yield?
I am not sure I did not to ride in the combine. They did look healthy.

Could a 4430 pull that? I’m in the market for grain carts
Awesome video 👍 we had a 2388 with a 4955 pulling a jm 750 few years ago. Awesome video thanks
Very cool. This farm has a 4955 on their second 500 cart which appears at the end of the video.
Reminds me of my younger years. Good deal
I can remember running both machines just like those. Good machines 👍🚜
😁👍👍
Got one of these in 1/64 scale I got now a Brent 674 cart now
👍👍
Great stream buy I would like to ask a question what kind of beans are they and what do make from then thank you sir
I am not sure on the soybean variety. I unfortunately did not get to ride in the combine so I did not see the yield . The soybeans sure looked healthy.
do they do tabbaco up by you i they do would really love to see how they harvest that
Cab beans!!
Whoops.
What is the second tractor in the video?
It is a 4955 on a second 500 cart.
Cool video but we're those two old boys getting along nice to see the two working together after all it's because two companies that made the USA the leaders of the world in agriculture
😁👍👍
Do they still make John deere grain cart
No they stopped offering it some time between 1990 and 1992.
@@bigtractorpower thank you sir for answering the question can you film a video with a 4455 John deere open cab
Enjoyed the video. Everything looks to be in great shape.
That was awesome Sure getting their moneys worth out of that grain cart
Cool footage
Suppose to say Nice
Didn't think the red and green machines are allowed to work together..
Nice video as usual BTP... 👍👍
My family knows a custom harvester that still runs an older jd on there grain cart. They’ve got a 4840 that they run a kinze 840 on.
That's a big cart for that poor tractor
Jess Roberts I won’t disagree but it handles it just fine from what I’ve seen. They also run a piece of steel or something like that under the drawbar connected to the 3 pt. As support
Dunno why but I thought that it was Cole the cornstars tractors lol
new fan
