Great build and one of my favourite cars from the group B 1980s era. Can't forget that awsome V6 resonating in the hills 10 mins before you actually saw it for a few seconds coming through the stage. 😊
CANNOT Beat Tony Ponds Computervision Livery. MY ALL time Fav Rally Car. MST Are Building BRAND NEW Ones so CANNOT wait until Johnny Smith GIVES US a Looky.
i had that pleasure back in 1987 in a full works car...the thing that impressed me most was not the speed of the car but the breaking performance...the car would dart off in an instant & as it approached the next corner you wouldn't think it could not possibly slow down in time to take it but it did! also it was damn too noisy in the cockpit which was separated with a clear plexiglass from the engine, behind the seats!
That's a nice build. I'd love to try some ice rally but we don't get that kind of weather here.. How do you get on with your Kevlar sump Guard. Mine keeps getting torn up, I'm thinking of going back to aluminium
For all the power the group B cars had, they all had very basic roll cages, all of them. The cage for all of them was just simple tubing berefit of comprehensive bracing. This particular build doesn't seem to even have any A-post rollcage tubing!

A lot were alloy rather than steel too. Thankfully the regs are far better safety wise these days.
