Good game. Can't wait to see you play again. It really puts into perspective how quick the PTW guys are at magic because they helped a lot with triggers and targets. You crushed it!! It gives me motivation to understand the game at yalls level.

came here specifically to say the same thing cause wtf. can't deny that it is INSANELY strong but the headache at least for me personally just makes it unfun. Never been a fan of convuluted combos in general, same reason i wont play gitrog either
I removed krark from my Veyran casual deck because just so many trigger of every single fucking thing and actually brings the deck down

Veyran get's +2/+2 per spell cast or copied cos her second ability trigger went the first one does. at 16:25 when Tori attacked that veyran was probably big enough to kill Cam.
3 Krarks, Tavern Scoundrel, Storm Kiln artist?? She should have made seven treasures and bounced the Aethersworn Cannonist, then combo'd off. Holy crap. Poor Tori, she's gonna look back on this game one day and say "Damn, I probably could have won right there" about a dozen times. Also, I've heard that Serra Ascendant is a pretty good card.

At 9:05, personally not sure why Tori didn't start trying to spam casting the Snap, especially in the second main phase once Kataki was gone. Even though she didn't have any draw ability, she could've very likely bounced pretty much of all her opponent's creatures as long as she lost at least one of the coin flips from the Krark / Sakashimas, accrued extra mana by tapping her lands in response to the spell to float mana, and building up treasures with her Tavern Scoundrel. Feels like a missed opp

@@toriofthevast Yeah, you were definitely in a good position to win if you had some form of carddraw in hand. All you had to do was bounce the cannonist (Rule of law basically stops all of its win attempts) and you could go ahead. No need to bounce anything else on the field really.
On a side note: Recently I have had to take a step back from life (due to some serious mental/emotional stuff,) and you all have given me a reason to get up early on Sunday. Thank you guys for being awesome.

nate has found a way to utilize his life total. i love that sentence it perfectly encapsulates the difference between new and old players. after a while of playing a card game you start to realize what life points actually are for while new players still think of life as something that counts how much % dead they are.
Serra's Ascendant is a card that goes from "this card is awesome" to "thus card is useless" back to "this card is awesome" along that trail
Krark/Sakashima is the most impressive and painful deck to watch go off. My brain is too smooth to even attempt to keep up with it. Great game!

Saying that Serra Ascendant is a trap because it doesn't help you win the game is like saying stax is a trap because it doesn't help you win the game.
It also draws you cards with Tymna and props up your life total against winconless stax decks

Serra Ascendant did a ton of work, putting pressure on others to slow them is important. And life isn't nothing, it may not have won the game but without Tori it might have.

My favorite Sakashima partner is Tymna. My favorite colors to play in cEDH are esper because I’m a Stax player. The card draw power in the command zone is insane. It has the potential to draw additional 6 cards a turn.
It's really funny that you guys made this video around the same time when both Tymna + Sakashima (farm) and Krark+ Sakashima went to the top 4 in Tier1CON World championship commander tournament.
Krark deck was also insane in that match as well.

Just fyi, I know you were going fast when Krark had all the interaction, but when rolling for copies on Krark triggers, you need to resolve copies one at a time. Tori cast Spell Pierce, got two tails and then a heads. Immediately copy of Spell Pierce is the top of the stack and resolves. Krark triggers go off after (luckily you don't need to change targets). But just for future videos :D Thanks for the content!

I don't think krark/sakashima is an issue. I really think it's the pilot. There are folks who make the deck look easy and then there are people whose brains reboot like windows xp while piloting.
I know. I pilot the deck rather quickly and my table generally knows when to just scoop

You guys and Playing with Power are the main EDH channels I frequently view. Something about the fast pace but high skill curve of cEDH is just really enjoyable to watch and play. One question I have in regards to this game though, when Phyrexian Metamorph copies Krark, shouldn't it immediately legend rule and one of the two will have to go to the graveyard? Or am I misinterpreting the situation?

As a person who's played Krark/Sakashima in my online cEDH, I will never play it again. The ire from your opponents and time from you is insane. Makes turns decks look like beats
I have had the experience of going against Krark/Sakashima and yes in situations like those you just concede especially with multiple Krarks and free spells. Awfully long turns though.
Too many Krarks will spoil the broth, but it will indeed flip the coins

I have a friend who plays a casual Sakashima/Tevish deck, and every time I mention it I always call it his Krak/Sakashima deck, because Krark is Sakashima’s one true partner!

Nah at 6:12 she was correct. 6 red mana because 3 Rite of Flames resolved, providing 2 mana each. The two copies plus the original. No misplay there.
However later on when she casts Veyran, she shouldn't be able due to the Canonist, because didn't she Unsubstantiate the same turn? It was noted, so she cast the Metamorph, but didn't return the Veyran to hand.
Knew this was going to be a banger from the intro when it was introduced as "sakashima krark"

Serra ascendant is only useable for managing life totals early against ad naus and sylvan library, and control decks. Other than that it is mostly a casual card.
Too many “Let’s go”! Comments during the game. Tori seems like a decent player, and fun in general, bring her back.

I feel the pain on the spell triggers, I was so excited to play my Veyran deck until I cast a few spells. Only deck I've ever retired after playing once, no thanks!
While serra didn't help him win the game, it sure did prevent others from popping off via leveraging their life totals, and made them play more defensively.
With card advantage commanders, I feel like preventing your opponents winning can be as useful as going for your own win.

Disagree with Serra's Ascendant being a trap. It's a 1 mana card that offers a 12 point life swing every turn. Probably only good in Naus decks/decks that heavily use life totals or stax decks as a finisher (especially for winconless stax).
And while it didn't help win this game, whatever card would have replaced it wouldn't have done much better
I got excited to see Serra's Ascendant get some action I've always loved that card and then at the end of the video "yeah that card is a trap" haha bummer. I guess it should stay in my casual piles haha
Def not! It is a really good card. I think this game was just a bad matchup for the decks because it was themed. In other decks, especially in CEDH, Serra's Ascendant is a one drop 6/6 flyer with lifelink. This is a huge tempo swing! It threatens ad nauseam players life totals severly very early, and it also pumps up your own life total if you are running it as well. It also has flying which is a form of evasion that is super useful in farm type decks, allowing for Tymna triggers and Grim Hireling/Professional Facebreaker triggers. I dont think Cameron realized that he was able to make 4 treausres off that Ascendant! Unfortunately Krark Sakashima just does what Krark Sakashima does :(

Honestly i love the idea of krak sakashima but the sheer tediousness of it after a while gets old really fast. But it seems like a fun concept.

The big problem of krark is the partner hability, it should not have that. It's easy to resolve the flip problem when you can have another commander.
You know a deck is good when it throws away one of its best creatures in combat and still manages to no diff the opponents.

Krark/Sakashima is awesomely strong and fun deck to play, and for some.. even to play against. But its hard to pilot it asfuck, thats what u can see here, even tho its also bcs Tori isnt cedh player. Lovely game
watching this late, but i wanted to confirm, because i may be playing the krark list incorrectly. I thought when all the copies go onto the stack I need to select all of my targets at that time, and then flip to confirm if it resolves. Im not sure if I'm doing it wrong, or it was just an agreed play due to the webcam limitation, etc. Thank you for the information if any is provided, because if i can just select as a win flips, this deck is substantially better than how I have been playing it.
Mmm krark doesn’t put a copy on the stack until you flip and you don’t have to announce targets until the copy is on the stack.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but we do that I think.
It's shown next to the commanders at the beginning of the game when they don't keep seven. (In this video, one of them says "Mulligan 6".)
