Very nice tune, Peter - not the one I know. When I was at St Philip's, West Bromwich, we always used to sing this hymn (kneeling, as a prayer) as the last hymn of the first Evening Prayer of the New Year.
Thanks Keith - and I wish you a peaceful and blessed New Year! I can only remember singing this hymn once, at a church in central London on the first Sunday of 2002, to the Macfarren tune (the one most widely used, so probably the one you know).
Very nice and Happy New Year!! And on Saturday, I'll be ringing at Otley, and if I am lucky, I might get a go on the organ there (and I did a video of a look at the organ there which you found me from)
