The Acela you went on is the same that I went on 2 times and it is the one I saw yesterday (Sunday April 3,2022) serving as 2259 to Washington DC.

I love how you can hear the tilt system activating as the train is accelerating. High tech stuff. High speed trains are life. Far superior than cars for sure

I love high- speed trains! The train-driver makes pace between 23:45 and 25:10! We have in germany the high- speed train called ICE

The one-way trip costs $104 and took 3 hours. They also have a business class that costs more.

@@BillGreeneYon The Business Class on the Acela Express has seen serious discounting to pump up ridership post-Covid-19 - even to New York and Boston from Washington Union Station. I never took "Zippy" - and both NYC and Boston are on my "bucket list" anyway (I have a cousin that lives in Boston; she's been here twice with the kids, and her kids came earlier THIS year separately). I'm trying to see if I can get my mom to take "Zippy" with me to Boston, as she has NO train travel experience at all - she is very much a "plane girl". I, on the other hand, spent a lot of 1979 and 1980 on trains (AMTRAK and SEPTA), and almost half of 2000 (MARC).

I created a sample one-passenger all-Acela (all-Zippy, in other words) trip for October - round-trip,, DC Union Station to Boston South Station - $258. Regional wasn't this cheap merely a year ago - merely to Philadelphia! New York City OR Boston? Who are you kidding? (Notes - If you have legibility issues booking online - I did - remember that all Acela trips are four-digit and are thus either 21xx or 22xx; further, they are also Business Class or First Class seating-wise. Both classes include use of Club Acela in stations that have them (show your ticket at the Club entrance and when asked). Union Station HAS a Club Acela - I've seen it, having been there (the station - not Club Acela) many times; Boston South Station has one as well. Naturally, Club Acela has been modified to accomodate social distancing. I can certainly deal.
