what i think the story might be: so mon(the peacock) seams to be ill in some sort of way, or badly injured chi(chicken) is mon's best friend and they hang out all the time with eachother then one day chi got a call from either mon or the doctor(from the hospital mon is staying at after becoming ill/injured) telling him that mon was in a serious condition, and he's shocked to hear this (signaling 0:25 of the video ) chi visits mon daily(or etc) and they hang out sometimes ( as shown on the roof of what seems to be the hospital, considering mon's clothing 0:12 ) and it seems that mon might have passed away considering the end image of the video 1:09 and the frame of the flower and mon in a black suit like many would have at funerals 0:21 "i insist somebody will die" also gave me the feeling too.) 0:30 when chi is holding the bouquet of flowers and the lyrics "wishing that the pills let you cry" and then showing chi crying also gave me the signal that whatever meds mon was on weren't seeming to help him, and he still ended up passing away then at 0:50 the peacock's head being cut off seems to signal his death as well but then again the small images at 1:01 seem to give me the vibe that maybe near the end, chi was actually trying to kill him (and maybe him standing at the bed was him either being happy of his death or mourning and regretting what he did) hope this may be fun to read :,)
Hello!! Your analysis seems really cool, but I have to disagree with one part. I don't think Chi actually murdered Mon, not with bad intentions at least. I think that he just mercy killed him. Mercy killing is basically when someone ends a life to end that person's suffering. Chi probably saw that Mon was in great pain, so he killed him so that he wouldn't have to suffer anymore. Another possibility is that Mon was the one who asked him to kill him, which is why he looks so calm in the video. There's also a scene where a wire is cut, which probably means ending life support. Either way, it seems Chi ended up regretting what he did.

i find Mon's attitudes very interesting. They are really calm about their illness and at points even entertains the idea of dying. During the whole animation, they aren't seen without that sly smile. They seem to use the nearing of their death to create more mystique around themselves.
For me it looks like they used to be friends, until Mon fell into some kind of illness which would eventually kill him. Chi tried to stay by his side, but eventually it just made him feel worse and worse (like spending time with a time bomb) so he tried to cut ties with Mon, only to always end up coming back to him out of guilt. They kept this up until Mon died. Chi staying with him out of obligation, and Mon knowing Chi was miserable but not saying anything about it because he'd rather keep him around. The thing at the end probably shows that at some point Chi started to subconsciously wish that Mon would just die already so they could both let go, only to feel guilty when it actually happened.

Also I just obsessively examined whatever symbolism or detail I can get to get the clear story and here's what I got (for this video and not the song completely!) Chi (Chicken) and Mon (Peacock) are in a toxic relationship (platonic/romantic) and they communicate via pay phone for their shenanigans. Chi is a bit of an enabler, just doing whatever charming and beautiful Mon wants to satisfy their boredom. They have a lot of crazy times but Mon is clearly suicidal (note bandage on wrist at 0:26 ) But Chi stays with them anyway every time they get hospitalised, not really changing their dynamic. Mon might be addicted to drugs, ones that hinder deeper emotion. At 0:12 Mon sits by railings while Chi only leans, a weather charm hangs at the side wishing for good weather. (caged, free, good outcome) The climax of the story is a break up. The quarters pile up as calls happen less. Despite everything, Mon decides to leave with a cold smile on their face. Chi, heart broken, injures Mon and putting them in a vegetative state until they eventually die. The scissors cutting wires (and peacock heads) could mean ending their connection with each other and their lives. Bonus: Chi means twig/tree branch (could mean fragile or reaching out), Mon means "today is uncertain" (mysterious?) Roosters are messengers between heaven and earth. Peacocks are all about keeping a flaunting facade to survive.

I think that Chi and Mon are not friends, but it is Chi's work to look after the patients (or maybe try to talk to the suicidal person (??) i don't know if it actually exist this work, but maybe he like tries to tell him the meanings of not dying (?)) and in the morning (at the start of meme) he wakes up from call saying that he has patient to look after. After Chi meets Mon, he is not very excited and thinks Mon is dumb and simple, but in 00:28 you can see that he has something to hide. And by the Chi's expression you can see that he starts to get concerned, probably he has to be always available for the patient and he can call him by phone if he feels unsecured or just wants to talk. and then Mon starts to scare Chi with all his characteristics and the way he acts, the way he smiles all the time even when his situation is very bad. Chi is not happy to be with Mon anymore. and there was a part when he holds a phone and looks very creeped out, maybe he had a conversation with Mon, but Mon again started bringing up dark topics and scare Chi, telling him creepy facts and horrible things. And there is a part where Chi is crying and the pill falls, maybe Chi got so tired of this horrible shit so he tried to poison Mon so he could already die and brought him flowers (hoping he is dead), but Mon is alive which leaves Chi crying and be very unhappy. and then it shows Mon smiling which is even creepier. and a question mark. than Chi just tries to get over it (TRIES) but can't. because it showed the phone again, and Chi just realises that this will never ever end that Mon will continue to annoy him until Chi dies, and then it shows peacock's head being cut down and that is the part he starts thinking of killing him. He thinks of siccordes to cut it and stop suffering from this calls that are full of violence and are creepy. He is too tired of it, he thinks f cutting this thing that Mon carries around like blood or whatever, but he thinks he can't kill and stuff. But when Mon starts talking about suicide or murderer because he brought that frame again Chi can't stand it anymore and ends up hitting him with metal stick so he could finally die. after that it shows Mon and frames all around him, showing that there is no way he could escape death. Chi sits next to the phone so he would answer as soon as Mon calls because he thought it was not real, he couldn't kill Mon But eventually he did, the hospital serves calls him, telling that Mon died, and since Mon didn't have his head I think maybe he hanged himself or something, or maybe Chi cut his head off as soon as he hit him or something (or maybe it is Chi's hallucinations' because his thoughts of killing him by cutting his head off and that he actually died mixes together.) . He can't listen to what hospital tells him and cuts the lines of the phone, tired of this phone, because it all started with it, I guess. He rushes to the hospital and sees that Mon IS actually dead. He is happy that it is over, but at the same time is not. He just stands by his bed deep in his thoughts, he can't see what is happening around, he can't. He just wants to stay by the Mon, he knows he won his game, but he doesn't want it at the same time. The looser would die, it was him or Mon. Chi thinks maybe it would have been better to lose.

THe animation is amazing!! So my theory is: Mon (the peacock) and Chi (chicken) are best friends. Mon is ill and his health is bad, it probably has been for a long time (since they were kids, as shown at 0:30 where the two of them look way younger, it seems to be a flashback to when Mon started being sick and being hospitalized and Chi sees him for the first time). He constantly calls Chi so he is not alone in this hospital and to have confort, and Chi always answers and come see him. Except Mon's health never gets better and Mon starts to guilt trip Chi in some ways (probably calling him in the middle of the night and if Chi doesn't answers then telling him he could die any minute alone and he is a bad friend or some other horrible shit like that, maybe even sometimes not answering when Chi is calling the next morning just to freak him out). Seeing his friend condition not getting any better and the way he is guiltriping him Chi starts to fear Mon's calls more each time. One day he snaps and hit Mon with a pipe or something else, so he would not call him again and he will not have to see him sick again. Except Mon end in a coma.
Alright my theory! so Mon was very Ill (most likely heart condition). He at this point had already accepted the fact that he had it and may die quite soon. either Chi and Mon had just became friends or had been friends for awhile mon was finding it harder to accept death. For awhile his illness was elevated so he was able to go out and spend time with chi. But suddenly his illness hit hard and he was rushed to the er. chi doesn't about this intill a few hours later. Mon then at this point knew he couldnt make it so he asks chi to tell the nurses to pull the plug. he does it for Mon but now Chi blames himself and now thinks he has killed his bestfriend and now has made up in his head he has murdered him.

your style is amazing!! this got into my recommended today and im really glad i clicked on it! i like how fluid the animation is, my one advice would be to work on lipsyncs/animating the mouth because sometimes it looked kinda odd. other than that i love the colors and the character designs and the concept and just!!! the whole thing overall!! good job!!

I have exactly one question Did Chi kill/injure Mon??? Like it seems like he's legitimately distraught abt his friends condition but then there's the shot (1:01) where it looks like he's about to bash Mons skull in?? With a pipe??? And also the shots of him with scissors seemingly implying that he's going to cut the cord (literally or metaphorically) and kill Mon while he's in the hospital I am intrigued
My thoughts on 1:01 I don’t think I’m right I just thought it was an interesting theory to share. I don’t actually think Chi is actually trying to kill Mon because this scene is in black and white. The reason for this is because almost every scene with black and white are ones where Mon is already predicted dead. Instead I think that this is Chi’s resentment for Mon’s death and leaving him behind manifesting. Like I said before I don’t think I’m that correct, it just seemed like all the black and white scenes had something in common.
How I see the story: The Peacock is ill (probably some self hurt related stuff) and he's in a hospital (prob psychiatric). Chicken is his best friend/boyfriend and they hang out all the time. But the atmosphere of the place has very bad influence on the Chicken and he eventually does something bad to Chicken. After that he realises what he did and waits for a call from the hospital, but when he finally gets it it turns out that he killed Peacock. The last scene is him standing next to Peacock's bed and feeling so damn bad for what he did
So what I'm getting is that Friend number 2 (the peacock) has a cancer or virus of some sort. But friend number 1 (the chicken) still wants to hang put, so he forces/begs the hospital to let 2 out of the bed. (Explaining 2s clothing when they hang out). 2 ends up being so sick that he has to stay in the bed. Months go by, and they have to cut the head off. (Explaining the two scenes with 2s head near scissors and the peacock with its head detached). 1 still thinks that 2 is alive and tries to call 2. It goes straight to voicemail. They rush to their bed in the hospital, to see their friend dead in the bed. (Explaining the last scene with 1 next to 2, who is in the bed) At least that's what I can get from this video.

i think this is probably my favorite animation meme ever and i swear ive watched it a dozen times because the expressions are just so nice and theres almost always new stuff to notice and its!!! so nicely done!!! your art is very aesthetically pleasing and its just so cool to look at ^w^
I think that Chi and Mon are not friends, but it is Chi's work to look after the patients (or maybe try to talk to the suicidal person (??) i don't know if it actually exist this work, but maybe he like tries to tell him the meanings of not dying (?)) and in the morning (at the start of meme) he wakes up from call saying that he has patient to look after. After Chi meets Mon, he is not very excited and thinks Mon is dumb and simple, but in 00:28 you can see that he has something to hide. And by the Chi's expression you can see that he starts to get concerned, probably he has to be always available for the patient and he can call him by phone if he feels unsecured or just wants to talk. and then Mon starts to scare Chi with all his characteristics and the way he acts, the way he smiles all the time even when his situation is very bad. Chi is not happy to be with Mon anymore. and there was a part when he holds a phone and looks very creeped out, maybe he had a conversation with Mon, but Mon again started bringing up dark topics and scare Chi, telling him creepy facts and horrible things. And there is a part where Chi is crying and the pill falls, maybe Chi got so tired of this horrible shit so he tried to poison Mon so he could already die and brought him flowers (hoping he is dead), but Mon is alive which leaves Chi crying and be very unhappy. and then it shows Mon smiling which is even creepier. and a question mark. than Chi just tries to get over it (TRIES) but can't. because it showed the phone again, and Chi just realises that this will never ever end that Mon will continue to annoy him until Chi dies, and then it shows peacock's head being cut down and that is the part he starts thinking of killing him. He thinks of siccordes to cut it and stop suffering from this calls that are full of violence and are creepy. He is too tired of it, he thinks f cutting this thing that Mon carries around like blood or whatever, but he thinks he can't kill and stuff. But when Mon starts talking about suicide or murderer because he brought that frame again Chi can't stand it anymore and ends up hitting him with metal stick so he could finally die. after that it shows Mon and frames all around him, showing that there is no way he could escape death. Chi sits next to the phone so he would answer as soon as Mon calls because he thought it was not real, he couldn't kill Mon But eventually he did, the hospital serves calls him, telling that Mon died, and since Mon didn't have his head I think maybe he hanged himself or something, or maybe Chi cut his head off as soon as he hit him or something (or maybe it is Chi's hallucinations' because his thoughts of killing him by cutting his head off and that he actually died mixes together.) . He can't listen to what hospital tells him and cuts the lines of the phone, tired of this phone, because it all started with it, I guess. He rushes to the hospital and sees that Mon IS actually dead. He is happy that it is over, but at the same time is not. He just stands by his bed deep in his thoughts, he can't see what is happening around, he can't. He just wants to stay by the Mon, he knows he won his game, but he doesn't want it at the same time. The looser would die, it was him or Mon. Chi thinks maybe it would have been better to lose.

nah ya. me gusta muchos los fondos "extras" y como haces todo tan estético. solo me imagino lo mucho que te cuesta hacerlo y las horas que te tomas y flujo porque el espectador solamente lo verá por menos de dos segundos; yo aprecio mucho eso y lo veo una y otra vez viendo detalladamente cada detalle poniendo pausa cada segundo. hay partes que me gustan mucho como la de la camilla en el final. quiero ser como tu, osea, dibujar tan bien como tú. me cuesta pero ya se hacer las expresiones y la ropa similar pero luego miro el video y me recuerdo que el mejor es el tuyo y.. nah ya I like the "extras" backgrounds a lot and how you do everything so aesthetic. I can only imagine how much it costs you to do it and the hours you take and flow because the viewer will only see it for less than two seconds; I appreciate that very much and I see it again and again seeing in detail every detail by pausing every second. there are parts that I like a lot like the one in the end table. I want to be like you, bone, draw as well as you. I find it hard but I already know how to do the expressions and similar clothes but then I watch the video and I remember that the best is yours and .. LOL, DEATH OF ANXIETY. editt: that animation with animatic bits gives me life, I love your work, I showed it to my mom and my sisters. They don't care but it's because they don't see it as I do. Aw man, you did such a great work dude. I thought Chi is a grumpy chicken but yah suprise me with his expression in the video, kinda panic and sad hm. I really like these two peeps, peacock and chicken, even sad but they still make me love them alot :'00
THe animation is amazing!!
So my theory is:
Mon (the peacock) and Chi (chicken) are best friends. Mon is ill and his health is bad, it probably has been for a long time (since they were kids, as shown at 0:30 where the two of them look way younger, it seems to be a flashback to when Mon started being sick and being hospitalized and Chi sees him for the first time). He constantly calls Chi so he is not alone in this hospital and to have confort, and Chi always answers and come see him. Except Mon's health never gets better and Mon starts to guilt trip Chi in some ways (probably calling him in the middle of the night and if Chi doesn't answers then telling him he could die any minute alone and he is a bad friend or some other horrible shit like that, maybe even sometimes not answering when Chi is calling the next morning just to freak him out). Seeing his friend condition not getting any better and the way he is guiltriping him Chi starts to fear Mon's calls more each time. One day he snaps and hit Mon with a pipe or something else, so he would not call him again and he will not have to see him sick again. Except Mon end in a coma.

Alright my theory!
so Mon was very Ill (most likely heart condition). He at this point had already accepted the fact that he had it and may die quite soon. either Chi and Mon had just became friends or had been friends for awhile mon was finding it harder to accept death. For awhile his illness was elevated so he was able to go out and spend time with chi. But suddenly his illness hit hard and he was rushed to the er. chi doesn't about this intill a few hours later. Mon then at this point knew he couldnt make it so he asks chi to tell the nurses to pull the plug. he does it for Mon but now Chi blames himself and now thinks he has killed his bestfriend and now has made up in his head he has murdered him.
Your style is really unique and impressive the animation is really smooth and isn't just the same thing over and over again. Tells us a nice story

I have exactly one question
Did Chi kill/injure Mon??? Like it seems like he's legitimately distraught abt his friends condition but then there's the shot (1:01) where it looks like he's about to bash Mons skull in?? With a pipe??? And also the shots of him with scissors seemingly implying that he's going to cut the cord (literally or metaphorically) and kill Mon while he's in the hospital

My thoughts on 1:01
I don’t think I’m right I just thought it was an interesting theory to share.
I don’t actually think Chi is actually trying to kill Mon because this scene is in black and white. The reason for this is because almost every scene with black and white are ones where Mon is already predicted dead. Instead I think that this is Chi’s resentment for Mon’s death and leaving him behind manifesting.
Like I said before I don’t think I’m that correct, it just seemed like all the black and white scenes had something in common.

How I see the story:
The Peacock is ill (probably some self hurt related stuff) and he's in a hospital (prob psychiatric). Chicken is his best friend/boyfriend and they hang out all the time. But the atmosphere of the place has very bad influence on the Chicken and he eventually does something bad to Chicken. After that he realises what he did and waits for a call from the hospital, but when he finally gets it it turns out that he killed Peacock. The last scene is him standing next to Peacock's bed and feeling so damn bad for what he did

THIS IS SMOOTH AND EDGY AT THE SAME TIME.
So what I'm getting is that
Friend number 2 (the peacock) has a cancer or virus of some sort. But friend number 1 (the chicken) still wants to hang put, so he forces/begs the hospital to let 2 out of the bed. (Explaining 2s clothing when they hang out). 2 ends up being so sick that he has to stay in the bed. Months go by, and they have to cut the head off. (Explaining the two scenes with 2s head near scissors and the peacock with its head detached). 1 still thinks that 2 is alive and tries to call 2. It goes straight to voicemail. They rush to their bed in the hospital, to see their friend dead in the bed. (Explaining the last scene with 1 next to 2, who is in the bed)
At least that's what I can get from this video.
