    I am in the business of film and documentaries and all my friends use Davinci Resolve. I am trying to learn it of course, but never seem to have the time to get immersed. I keep learning PowerDirector extras like this tutorial and can't seem to get away from it. I told a famous director friend of mine that I use Power Director and he said, "What! Are you kidding?" No, i said. He told me people are really going to notice the lack of quality and professionalism. Strange thing is, no one ever has. Thanks Maliek. You still rock it everyday.

    • @chrislauterbach8856
      @chrislauterbach8856 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      While not in PD, you might want to create a title in a photo editing program like Paint.net. I would take some work because layers are needed, but Paint.net allows you to flip images (including text) . It is then a matter of positioning and creating a png file for the title, and importing it into PD. Remember the same fonts that you use for PD are the same fonts avail for your other programs i.e. MS Word, Paint.net, etc.

    Thanks for your tutorials.
    I've got a small problem.
    I'm using the standard scroll up title - the one that comes with PD 16 for end credits. The way it is designed, the screen starts black and then the credits start to roll up. Works fine. But I'd like to start with the first batch of credits full-screen because I'm trying to sync the title with music and the extra blank screen at the beginning makes the title scroll too long. Shortening the duration of the title doesn't get rid of the black screen and makes the title move too quickly. Any ideas?

      Peter Levine Have you tried adjusting the entrance of the title? Open title designer, look to the timeline at the bottom of the window, adjust the length of the entrance at the beginning of the timeline

    Sir, I have no idea what happended. I used to have many options to choose from, but for some reason, most all of them are not appearing anymore. I searched under All Content and the few categories - nothing! I've lost about 85% of the text choices. Ideas? I do recall following your path when removing those standard images in the media library. So the media room/screen is clear so it's not cluttered. Other than that - I don't know what I may have done. Thank you in advance for any input you can provide.

    • @PDU_Tutorials
      @PDU_Tutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      aidanbobhog No, there are no settings to change what can or can’t be imported. What do you mean it doesn’t work? What is happening? Is it not importing, is the alpha channel not there, etc.?

      aidanbobhog AVI is a file container so it is probably using a codec that PD doesn’t like when it comes to alpha files. An AVI file is compatible with several video codecs including DivX, Xvid, MOV and more. Find out which codec you’re AVI file contains and convert it to a different codec to see if it works. All of the alpha files I use are MOV H.264

    how do you make Titles "CRAWL" across the bottom of the screen like a "Ticker Tape" ??

  • @lucianoauteri3223

    Hi Brother Maliek, I've always said it, the PowerDirector Titrator has always been very professional like the Pinnacle Titrator.
    However, apart from the Titrator, I would like to dwell for a moment on the effects of PowerDirector 18 and in particular on the "rain" effect. Anyone like me who has been using PowerDirector for a long time to edit videos knows that the "rain" effect is among the plug-ins of the affects. And all those who have applied the "rain" effect on a video or photo clip, will surely have noticed that, since you press "play" in the preview pane, before the "rain" starts, obviously to flow from the top to bottom is preceded by a few seconds of transparency. Here, what I would like to understand is precisely this: that is, how should you do to make the "rain" begin to flow immediately from the moment you press "play" without being moved by those seconds of transparency? Using "Key frames", of course.
    I don't know if I explained myself well, but the concept seems clear enough.

    • @PDU_Tutorials
      @PDU_Tutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      luciano auteri You can’t change the beginning of the rain effect to remove the entrance of the rain. I would use the Produce Range feature and produce the section of the timeline where the rain is fully on the screen. Then import that clip and bring it into the timeline. You can also try asking on the PD forum to see if anyone else has addressed the issue.

    • @lucianoauteri3223
      @lucianoauteri3223 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In fact it was as I thought, I was not wrong. The parameters of the "rain" effect cannot be changed. And you, you gave me confirmation.
      Oky. Thanks anyway. And ... See you next tutorial! Hi Brother Maliek!

    I modified a title template and set the opacity to 50%. When I insert it in the video the opacity will be 100%. I looked at it again to re modify it, the opacity is still 50%. But the videos is 100% Why is this?

    • @PDU_Tutorials

      The opacity in the title is 50%. if you add a background or object you will see that. If you are trying to see the video through the text you need to use blending modes. I am dropping a tutorial on this subject next week.
