I did this but put only the stem in soil and the pups still grew. I guess now I need to remove them and plant them in the soil?

That's what I'd do. Were you successful in growing more Kalanchoes?

How often do you need to keep the soil moist/mist it? 🌸

Hello I have a kalanchoe fedtschenkoi he is 5 years old. He has never made a flower. I shrew 3 leaves and there are several small shoots at the leaf... can't find the answer to my question... do I have to separate the shoots from the leaf to put them in the ground or do I put the whole leaf in the ground?
My shoots now have 4 weeks
    Thank you for answering me!!!😊

      Why don't kalanchoe flowers?
Low light can prevent flowering. Check your watering routine. Overwatering can prevent flowering.
Consider a dark period of 14 to 16 hours per day to encourage bud formation.
I have translated from google where you can find all you need

Hey, chiming in here: I have done both with other succulents: I have removed the pups from the mother leaf then sat it on top of the soil to take root. I have also left the leaf with the pups on top of the soil and misted the pups. The mother leaf eventually shrivels up and dies while the pup(s) carry on.
Both methods have worked for me. However, leaving the pup(s) on top of the soil with the mother leaf has been more successful than the other way. I think it's because in nature, succulents propagate themselves this way. If you are familiar with succulents, you will see new pups forming under the main plant from dying leaves attached to the bottom of the succulent. The dying leaves wither away leaving their pups behind. This occurs without any human intervention.
The purpose of the mother leaf is to supply nutrients to the pup until the pup is strong enough to gather it's own nutrients from the soil and sunlight. I hope this information helps for future reference. What did you end up doing?

I use Miracle Grow cactus soil and cactus formulated fertilizer for all of my succulents, and they are thriving. For me, it's the easiest, fastest way to plant new succulents instead of having to make my own soil.
