Nice run-down Matt! I've had my K3 for a while now and, at least for CW, I don't think it can be beat. With the K4 coming out in 2020, I wonder if you will still run your K3 or are you going for the newest and greatest. I think for my operating anyway, the K3/P3 combo is the best rig out there. 73, W6FG
Well done video, thanks. I was considering a K3 because of all the hype that I hear about the rig. I recently purchased a FTDX 5000, from this video I don't see it being any better than my 5000 along with the price of all the options to bring it up to speed. The Pan adapter look very Micky Mouse compared to my LP-pan2 that I run off of my 9 mhz IF output on my FTDX-5000. It runs circles around the K3 pan. Thank allot, this video saved me allot of cash.
The K3 sub receiver is better than the 5000 sub receiver. And the P3 is lab grade response and accuracy. LP pan has latency that the P3 does not. 500 is a great rig, but if you include the dual receiver, the k3 trumps it. Plus customer service, ease of transportation (its light), and ease of repair all go to the K3 if needed.

The RX is one of the best available and the RX audio can be tailored to suit your tastes using the built in 8 band RX equalizer

Also, no PC needed. Linked to the radio. Stand alone. And very portable.

The Flex 6300 is a better value, more features although Elecraft is a great company
