  • Well, I´m re-upload my soundtracks without song of the credits by popular petition.
    ****************************************
This is my favorite song of all soundtrack. All soundtrack is composed by Hans Zimmer and this song represents the climax of the movie.

The build up to it is nothing short of fucking masterful.
It's not JUST that one measure of music, but everything that comes before.
The thirteen seconds of sudden realization that _something is wrong,_ followed by confusion leading into that sense of rising panic, is what lets that one single moment of pure, unadulterated, world-shattering _terror_ land as hard as it does.

In my opinion, this scene has one of the best scores in movie history. The scoring of the entire movie is amazing, but this scene is just absolutely incredible. His chorales always have four voices, each carrying their own melodic line, while creating a rich harmonic progression when played together. This concise structure made them good training data for a machine learning model."

30 year later, and this scene part (and music) is still heartbreaking and powerful.
Mufasa is not only as a king but also like a noble Paladin, risking his life to save and protect his son's life, sadly unaware of Scar's betrayal which leads to his demise.
While not the first character in a Disney film to die, this was actually the very first movie that not only have one good character die, but you got to see Mufasa's dead body. Heartbreaking and tearful when Simba cries and mourn of the loss of his father, believing it was his own fault.
That was very hardcore of Disney.

This scene was honestly the most terrifying thing I'd seen. I was probably cringing in my seat when the choir at 1:12 started up. I was pretty little and hadn't seen many character deaths, so it was a big impact. I thought the choir was the hyenas chanting and singing about Mufasa dying, and even though I liked them when they were being funny (especially Shenzi), when they were scary, they really scared me.
I watched this movie recently with a bunch of my friends, and one of them left because she didn't want to see Mufasa die. I always thought the whole scene was scary and sad, but I'd never been so impacted by something that I couldn't watch. It kinda stuck with me how much something can impact a person.

When I saw this movie in 3D, there was... a lot of emotion. When I saw the original cut in the theatres as a kid, I didn't cry at all. Two major points I had to hold back my tears as an adult. Mufasa's death being one of them.

When you can't get Alan Menken to write the score, you get an equally talented musician. And Hans Zimmer was the perfect choice. I particularly love the part at 1:11 but the whole thing is brilliant.

You know, people say all kinds of things about this movie like "Best Disney movie!", "Best animated movie!", "Best '90s movie!", "Most nostalgic movie!", "Best songs ever!", etc. And rightfully so!
But one thing that I pretty much never hear and REALLY needs to be said is BEST CINEMATIC SCORE EVER!!!
I have never seen a movie with as unforgettable a score as The Lion King, and it's because of this movie that I consider Hans Zimmer the best cinematic composer ever!

  • @Zosalot
    @Zosalot 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The music is very powerful and shows that just because The Lion King is a movie for children, it is not a movie to look down on.
And the title of this song "To Die For" struck me odd at first as I thought it'd be simply called "Stampede" or something but that's also very powerful. A father loved his son so much he literally died for him. Nowadays people try so hard to be dark and striking in "adult movies" but the desperate attempts don't even come close to the emotion felt in Mufasa's death.

Definitely one of the best scores of all time. So much emotion and thought was put into it. I watched this move practically every single day when I was 3 years old till I was 10. I can see every single part of the movie in my head that goes along to this particular song. It's depressing that some people may not truely understand moving music like this. If music can make you FEEL emotions, you know it is amazing.
